Poor battery life

This car drains the standard 12 volt battery while charging overnight in our garage. This has happened 3 times and we have had to call to have it jump started. The AAA representative who came to start the car said they had seen this issue often with Ioniq 5. We are taking it in to our service center to see if they can find out why this continues. You should know that it is a huge inconvenience for us.

Great car with one flaw

I love most things about this car, but to no one’s surprise, the ICCU issue remains a big flaw. It died in month nine, and while it got fixed, Hyundai needs to address this problem since who knows if it will fail again and how many people may be injured if it does under different circumstances. FIX IT

A Terrific Find

If I were to be granted additional wishes it would be for longer range and self driving. But with plenty of chargers available and the drivability that it has it is keeping me smiling.

It’s okay

I was quite happy with my Ioniq 5 during the first half of my lease. The car has been pretty convenient and performs well. Recently, however, I started experiencing issues with the charging functionality and the mobile app. When I asked the service team to look into this during my last routine service, they told me I had to schedule a separate diagnostic appointment with a $260 copay. This was really frustrating. They completely failed to address my concerns while the car was already in the shop and instead asked for an extra fee and time just to take a look. I am also dealing with a faulty wiper fluid sensor. The container is completely full, but the app constantly sends false notifications saying it is empty. When I asked the service team to check this, I was given the exact same answer. It is deeply disappointing that I wasted half a workday bringing my car in, only to have the team refuse to do a basic check on these issues. I am not going to spend more of my time or money scheduling another appointment. I will simply finish out my current lease term, but this experience has definitely made me reconsider whether I will lease another vehicle from Hyundai in the future.

The Ioniq 5 is a Model Y killer

Really outstanding electric mid-size SUV. The range is great - actually significantly higher than the advertised miles (I have been getting 400+ miles on a charge). The electronics are good - not too techy. The interior and cargo space fit our lifestyle. My wife uses a walker and/or wheelchair and both fit comfortably in the cargo area with the back seats up. Highly recommended.

Good, could be better

I like our Ioniq 5. Comfortable ride, plenty of range and power. Nicely appointed inside, stylish looks. Nevertheless, it's missing some features, IMHO - diver seat memory, auto door locks, auto/speed dependent wipers - these were standard in our Tesla Y.

The car is great overall, it’s wonderful to drive, I wish the front trunk had more available space in it, and there appears to be available space under the plastic front trunk when checked visually.

Love this car!

It's a pleasure to drive this well designed and thought out car! Only negative is the iphone charger pad heats up from direct sunlight and your phone can overheat. Also I wish the charging status lights at the charging port could be dimmed or options.

Once they get rid of Bluelink, this will be better than the Rivian and Tesla.

Love the Ionic After Bumpy Start

I’ve had the Ionic 5 for a little over a year, and it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Smooth riding, plenty of nearly instant power, and in my opinion, great looking. I would have rated it five stars if not for a negative experience trying to get help dealing with a loud squeaking sound from the rear hatch door from the dealership where I purchased it. I was inexplicably told that the car was too new to qualify for replacement of the parts needed to fix the problem. The car has a warranty that covers some things when it is only older than a certain age? Left in the lurch with only my own devices, I went to the Hyundai owners forum and found that the squeaking sound has been a problem for several years. Several forum members also ran into problems getting the problem fixed at dealerships, and tried a number of home-grown solutions. A few of the solutions were described in the forum, I tried several myself, and finally found one that actually fixed the problem. This experience was disappointing, but since I figured out a way to make my driving experience quiet again — without any help from Hyundai the company and the dealership that sold me the vehicle — I have been thoroughly enjoying my climate-friendly Ionic 5.

one major mistake

The vehicle rides beautifully and is well appointed. But I cannot believe that this specific design Floor got through the designers into production. When you are driving, you cannot even begin to see the buttons that control the air conditioning and the heater and the temperature, etc. They are LCD lights with touch controls and if it’s the least bit daytime with shining they disappear. I would give anything to be able to remedy this situation and I understand the newer ones, minus a 2025, will have actual buttons for these controls. How can I correct mine at this time?
