Good overall vehicle with several pros and a few cons.

Car is well built quality-wise. I like that they have added back actual push buttons to quickly control many features. The number of added in features is quite good, but ease of use and reliable function needs improvement.

Love my Ioniq 5

I just love the car The 2025 is better in a lot of small ways than the 2024 I had before (firmer suspension in particular). I look forward to driving it every day. The only weakness for me is the steering, which lacks feel and is too low-geared for my taste, but I.ve gotten used ti it,

Surprisingly spacious and luxurious ride, though turn radius is wide

The Ioniq 5 is my first EV and I am very happy with the purchase! The ride is so smooth even on cobblestone streets, and the interior is deceptively spacious, so even my mother and father-in-law have more than enough room to ride in the backseat. Carplay generally works well, though once or twice it has mysteriously failed to start up when I start the car. My biggest disappointment thus far is the turning radius--this car is wider than the VW Jetta Sportwagen I was driving before, and it is much more lumbering around turns. I have yet to figure out how to park it straight on the first try. But everything else is smooth so far, so I'm willing to overlook that--and I'm very happy to never go back to a gas station!

Almost perfect (aside from the eye tracking sensor)

Coming from a Kia EV6, I am very familiar with the E-GMP platform, and very much enjoy the driving dynamics, level of refinement and style of the Ioniq 5. I also enjoy the safety features including the HDA 2, HOWEVER, the eye tracking software that monitors you are paying attention to the road is borderline awful. I cannot use the adaptive cruise control with either my prescription glasses or prescription sunglasses. I am aware of the TSB that explains the type of glasses that work better with the system. I need prescription glasses to be able to drive without strain and safely operating the vehicle, and the system not being able to sense my eyes while clearly looking ahead at the road is borderline ridiculous. I tried adjusting my seat and steering wheel and it doesn't help. Also, telling owners to test different type of glasses without any guarantees they will work with the system is not feasible either. The issues with the system is a large factor in whether I will purchase or lease another Hyundai or Kia vehicle. If improvements are not made to the system via software or hardware updates, I doubt I will purchase or lease another Hyundai or Kia vehicle.

A great car overall, but with some inconvenient features.

The climate control requires looking away from driving to a somewhat dimly lit display below the central console. Why aren't there tactile buttons so I can adjust by touch without looking? If I am wearing sunglasses, I can't see the display at all. Also, the door handles are too too smooth. They need rubber so that my hand doesn't slip off the handle when I am trying to open my door.

I want to wear sunglasses

Overall highly impressed with the inoiq 5 over my previous model y. I just wish I could wear sunglasses on bright or sunny days when using active steering. Seems like a safety risk to not allow sunglasses when conditions warrant it.

Nice car

We like most things about this car: nice design inside and out. What we don't like is that entering through the front doors is a akward and difficult. there is no way to pop the rear hatch from inside the car, the environment controls, e.g., fan speed, temperature, are hard to see and use.

Great car, bad planning

I got a nail in one of the tires (dead center) before my odometer showed 1700. I called the dealer and he said that only thing he can do is to replace the tire. I think it's ridiculous to replace a brand new tire for having a nail in it. I was told to take it to Discount Tire or Big O Tire if I didn't want to replace it. I had to take it to Discount Tire, and they fixed it, but they scratched and chipped my brand new wheel. What's done is done and now I ended up with a brand new car with 2 wheels with chipped paint and deep scratches. Hyundai had to do a better job of providing assistance on resolving a problem that can occur periodically, and can't just push out to a 3rd party for resolution, especially for a brand new car that costs $50K. Very irresponsible and unhappy, and wouldn't buy or recommend another Hyundai. It's a shame for such a great car.

Charging Beast

Good amount of range for long roadtrips, especially now since Tesla Superchargers are available (less distance between chargers, typically). Charging is superior, especially at a 800V station. Still very fast on a 400V station. Very good (4.5) mi/kWh in traffic, decent (3.0) on highways. Brake pedal blending is bad, takes a lot more depress to stop the car than to slow it. 1-pedal complete stop is too slow, need to use the brake pedal or crawl to a stop, defeats the purpose. Volume knob is too close to the “driver only” button and I keep hitting it without meaning to. Google Maps integration is horrible, it doesn’t always recommend the closest option, it doesn’t know numbers when using speech-to-text, not intuitive to find things (i.e. end of trip battery life, switching between time remaining vs. time of arrival, etc). Highway driving assist works well. Windshield is horrible when raining, rain blurs the windshield instead of forming drops and running off. Automatic headlights are too sensitive, turning on in broad daylight when passing a bit of shade. Gear changing requires a hard press of the brake pedal, electric cars shouldn’t have an issue shifting before stopping? Would like to see automatic locking when stepping away from vehicle.
