Excellent EV, smooth, easy driving, good tech features

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is an excellent EV. It has loads of tech features, but has many of the controls with buttons rather that all touch screen. Smooth acceleration, smooth driving, great road handling. The driving range is good, though not very high. One major feature that can be improved is with self drive features. Other minor features to improve are to provide more seamless integration with mobile phones (good, but can be improved).

Ioniq 5 Review

Great car and mileage. My only complaint is odometer is not consistent. Usually will give me a different number between the time I turn off the car and the next time i restart.

Reliable Vehicle

I love all the safety and tech features of the Ioniq 5. It’s so fun to drive, very smooth and so quiet. Have driven it for over a year now and it’s very comfortable on road trips. I love the light grey interior and customizable lights, but my favorite feature is the HUD.

My brakes failed and Hyundai refuses to lemon it

Beautiful car, has all the bells and whistles but, major malfunctions can occur

A must for a two car family

For years, I was skeptical on driving an electric vehicle just because the critics talk about you can’t go very far until you charge it. I found that it’s not the case what I discovered is it is absolutely a perfect vehicle for in town or making road trips that are 100 miles or less. My vehicle is a Ford F150 four-wheel-drive that has a lift kit and I find myself driving my wife’s car which is the Hyundai around town. It zips in and out of traffic so much easier and when it comes to parking, it’s a breeze.

Excellent EV - Almost perfect

Drives smoothly; lots of power; negligible maintenance costs, as should be typical for an EV. Decent range, fast charging, very good safety features; good user interface (buttons make more sense than touch screen controls)

Great car - a few issues

This is my first EV, and I love it. I am a tall person who likes good visibility, and this vehicle is roomy and has a wide field of view. The EV interface is intuitive, and the Android Car Play works well with my phone. I had one manufacturer issue with my ICCU, which failed unexpectedly and blew a fuse. Dealer had to replace it under warranty, which took a long time. Secondly, I had a charging issue with DC fast chargers. Short version - the settings in my Hyundai Pay app weren't fully set up to work seamlessly with Tesla chargers, and I found this out the hard way. Tried to charge up on the Turnpike late one night, the charge initiation failed, and my vehicle locked out the DC fast charge circuit. It was now dead and would not allow any DC charging - Tesla or not. Two different visits to the dealer, and neither time did they fix my issue, although they claimed that they did. I had to find it myself online, and fix it myself. Disappointing that the EV service through Hyundai isn't yet as good as Google / Reddit. Needs improvement.

2025 Ioniq 5 SE review

I love the comfort, efficiency and quiet ride of this car. Also, the layout of the interior and the size are perfect for us. The failure of the ICCM which required two months to replace was very disappointing.

Just Sold It

It was comfortable, drove nicely and was very pretty. BUT the electronics were very difficult. Not integrated and confusing to operate. Blue Link never operated consistently. Opening the door became a process with phone not being recognized …. and having to turn phone off and then on yo get it yo connect.

Great car except for the ICCU issue

Hyandi has done a poor job of keeping its Ioniq5 customers informed as to what the issue is and is it fixed for good. My fear is that it could happen again. All I know is that a fix was made but nothing as to why it failed and if the fix is sufficient for the vehicles life less normal wear and tear and normal maintenance. I asked the dealer if they had a contact person at Corporate to discuss the ICCU issue and they had none.

The worst vehicle I have ever owned. Will never own a Hyundai again

This is by far the most uncomfortable vehicle I have ever owned, and I owned a 2008 Mitsubishi evo8 with ricaro racing seats!! The ride was extremely firm, the seats extremely uncomfortable & the back seat was always hot due to poor circulation. I will most likely never own a 100% battery powered vehicle again. I learned if your battery fails, you can’t even open the doors to get into it! My 100% electric vehicle battery failed in less than six months of ownership with 4000 miles on the vehicle. It took the dealership 88 days to fix it then three months later it was failing again. When I called the dealership to get it fixed, they told me to call Hyundai corporate and refuse to fix it.
