Solid car

This is a solid car, fun to drive and easy to change. My complaints are minor. They auto detect system is annoying and alerts you far too soon (maybe have levels of alarms) there are pretty bad blind spots so Thank goodness for the camera and the cooling system is a little slow.

Smooth and quiet

After 4000 miles I have had not a single problem with the car. I love being able to charge at home and not having to go to a gas station or a mechanic for oil change. I wished the range was 50% more, but I would not want the car to be heavier. For that we will have to wait a little longer!

Better than Tesla, but...

The Ioniq 5 is. a far better built car than the Tesla Model Y I had previously. Smooth and quiet cabin. But, software and firmware updates are infrequent. Bluelink connectivity is via a cellular modem that is unresponsive compared to GM On Star and Tesla's satellite connectivity.

Good EV to start with.

This is our first EV, and we are impressed with it. The performance and handling are outstanding. Not having to worry about gas prices is such a joy. I'm disappointed by the range when traveling at highway speeds. It requires more planning when taking a longer trip to make sure that you can find a charger (and sometimes chargers aren't available or broken).

Solid, comfortable riding car. User interface is a bit of a mixture regarding consistency and ease of use. Charging is simple and quite convenient.

A+ for driving; C- for software

I love driving this car. Everything about it. The handling, the pickup, the safety features, the interiors. But the software is really deficient. I'm hoping that Hyundai upgrades its software — and soon!

Ridiculous to fix!

I love the idea of having an electric car. Now having experienced a hit and run gave me a whole new perspective on electric car ownership. My car was in the shop for almost 3 months and over $5k later for a bumper and related components. I’m not sure if it’s worth it.

Competent daily commuter

Significant improvement over the 2024 model in terms of cabin noise and wireless carplay. The wireless charging pad heats up the phone very quickly which is bad for the phone. The vehicle still has the phantom sensor alert issue, even while sitting in traffic lights, the collision sensors start making noise. The Hyundai plug and charge doesn't work with EVGO chargers. The rear vents take a long time to properly circulate cold air, when its hot outside.

Great car with a few minor annoyances

Great range and a smooth quiet ride. My only complaints are that it does not have walk-away lock even though it has walk-up unlock. The sound system is not great; very muddy sounding. Also had a couple occasions where it took me 10 minutes stop charging and unlock the charger from the port.

Love My 2025 Ioniq 5 But....

Going from my 2022 Ioniq 5 Limited to a 2025 Limited was both a good and bad experience. I love some new features such as a rear window wiper, rear heated seats, bigger battery with extended range and one-touch battery preconditioning. I do not love the new console design. I am a woman and I now have to lift the armrest to place my purse between the seats and if I need something from my purse it's a pain to access it. I do not like the radio design. It now takes me three steps to set SiriusXM to choose my favorite stations and go to the screen that allows me to FF, pause or rewind live radio. My 2022 remembered these settings and presented the same radio screen every time I started the car. And, BTW, the album background is still awful and ruins the symmetry of the screens! I also do not love that you are STILL using the awful BOSE SOUND SYSTEM! Seriously, it's the WORST! A 1992 Dodge Caravan has a better sound system! I find the driver's seat to be as comfortable as my 2022 but the 2025 is not as fun to drive. It seems less zippy and not as smooth as my 2022. I also have more anxiety concerning ICCU and traction battery pack failure. Overall, I think the pros and cons of driving this car just about even out. I have been purchasing and driving Hyundai vehicles exclusively for the past 35 years. I very much hope this is not the first one to let me down.
