Enjoyable riding experience

The only problem I have, I would consider fairly mild. It seems that my air-conditioning heating unit seems to have a mind of its At times it will decide what temperature to change while I’m in the car. It’s an easy fix for me to just change the dial. However, it seems that if I happen to push a button to change a musical station or sometimes do nothing the temperature register in the car will change. I have brought this car in several times and each time they’ve tried to fix it. It’s only a temporary change one time they even brought somebody from the factory in.

Overall this is a car for girl, family and causal drive, but not for any performance drive. But your passager might have some comments at the back seat, because this is too bumpy for them to sitting at the back. Some sensors sometimes are out of control, for example: even there is no one in front of my car, the sensor still beeping.

Excellent vehicle, with a few minor quibbles

We bought our '24 SEL new in December 2023. I'll start with the quibbles: while I initially didn't particularly like the Digital Teal color, it's grown on me. So far, we've had zero problems with it - aside from the now-fixed hatchback noise issue. The seatbelt noise problem -fixed in later model years - is something that should have been caught in development. It's still an intermittent issue. The other what I call quibble is the fear of ICCU failure. While we haven't experienced it, it has put a huge damper on any trip we make - will it happen now? Will it leave us stranded hundreds of miles from home while on vacation? It's difficult to read stories that this is still an issue almost seven years after the I5 was introduced. There are inklings that 2026 model years have a new/revamped ICCU, and that this issue has been put to bed. If so, I think Hyundai should *retroactively* install the new unit for all prior years, for free. Hyundai, you may not know nor care, but fear of the ICCU failure is a huge, huge thing for many customers. Okay, now onto the good: it's a super fun car to drive, has oodles of power, is very attractive and "cool" looking, and has much more interior room than one might expect. Even at 6'4", I have *plenty* of rear seat and headroom. Aside from the aforementioned ICCU issue, it's well-engineered and we just love how practical it is. So much so, we recently leased a 2026 Ioniq 9 to complete the full-EV circle in our family. I can't recommend this vehicle enough to anyone who wants to make the leap to EVs from ICE. No oil changes, no ICE maintenance, and never having to fill up your car with gas again is ... kind of liberating. I also really like that we're no longer contributing to global warming, and we're saving *a lot* of money not buying gas. Of course, there are naysayers, and change is hard. But people wanted a faster horse, too - but what they *needed* was a car.

Best Car I’ve Ever Owned — Power, Comfort, and Technology Done

My 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Limited AWD is easily the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. It’s comfortable, quiet, incredibly responsive, and has more than enough power whenever I need it. The instant acceleration and confidence of the all-wheel-drive system are two of my favorite things about the car, and I would gladly take those advantages even with the tradeoff in efficiency compared with the rear-wheel-drive version. In my normal driving, I average around 3.3 miles per kWh. Of course, I wouldn’t complain about getting a little more range, but considering I chose the Limited AWD specifically for the additional performance, features, and capability, I’m very satisfied with the balance. The overall design is excellent, inside and out. The cabin feels spacious and comfortable, the technology is useful without making the car difficult to operate, and the driving experience still puts a smile on my face. Bluelink is good overall and definitely useful, although there is still some room for improvement in the app experience and responsiveness. That’s a relatively small criticism compared with how much I enjoy the vehicle itself. After living with the IONIQ 5, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Hyundai created an EV that doesn’t just feel like a good electric car — it feels like a genuinely great car. If I were making the decision again today, I would absolutely buy it again. My previous vehicle was a 2018 Hyundai Ioniq Limited with Ultimate Package.

Best car ever

It does require a little more planning for long trips than a gas powered car, but once you realize that, It's so much fun to drive. Easy to drive on long journeys; incredible acceleration. I have never loved a car so much in my life.

Great electric car

I loved my Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited. It was fun to drive, has great features and very comfortable-even for someone under 5" tall. My main issue was the ICCU failure. It was frustrating that I was not given a loaner car for several days until the dealer's service department had time to determine that the issue was a warranty item. That should have been clear from the start and it was not a good customer service policy, in my opinion. The other issue was that it took three weeks for the replacement part to arrive and for the car to be repaired. Regarding another issue, the inside driver's door "fabric" began to flake and peel within a very short time after owning the vehicle. Twice when I brought it in for service, I was told that Hyundai corporate would be contacted to address the issue. Both times, nothing was done to correct the issue.

Looks great and feels good to drive

I love mostly everything about this car but missing basic features like wireless car play and have the car auto lock when walking away is a bit strange to me. Also a bit too light for my liking

Ioniq5, a comforatable and fun car to drive.

My wife and I agree that the Ioniq5 is one of the most comfortable cars we have owned. The charging speed is much quicker than other EVs that I have compared to it. A 350 faster DC charger takes the battery from 20% to 80% charge in slightly less than 15 minutes.

Big pros, big cons

Generally, pretty good. most of its flaws should have been corrected before it’s release. They could be ameliorated with some minor design updates

Good first brand experience

We only considered this after riding in a Hyundai on a trip to Korea and hearing friends talk about their positive experiences. Been very impressed and considering additional Hyundai and Kia options in the future!

Half of lease not working

I’ve been trying to get it fixed since February. It’s very disappointing. It would be an awesome car if the tech hadn’t failed .
