Ok performance but lagging

This car has less the 3K miles and has to have the A\C system replaced and the turbo laggs too much

The car the CTR wishes it was

Hyundai set to make an affordable sports car for the every day person I feel they have achieved that very well. Some refinement and accountability is needed even for vehicles that are still on the road. It's important to pay attention to existing customers because they're the ones they want coming back for new vehicles.

FUN Performance Car

I bought this car as a second car to use for carving the canyons and it doesn’t disappoint. The exterior is very differentiated from the base Elantra, looking more sporty. Inside, the seats are very comfortable and hold you in place. There are some elevated materials with some cheaper plastic throughout. Not a downside to me. Especially for the price. The surfaces you sit on and touch regularly are quite nice. The real area this shines is the exhaust note, engine, and handling. This thing sounds insane stock. The ride is harsh, but the electronic dampers almost eliminate the bouncing if you aren’t looking to carve up the canyon. Being front wheel drive, you may be concerned it won’t hook from a dig, but with the LSD and OEM summer tires, it grips and is very quick! Highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a cheaper option to the Type R or GR Corolla that also sounds a lot better.

Best performance for the money but not perfect

The is one of the greatest performance cars you can buy for under 40k today. Track ready with all the tech you need. What makes it from hitting perfection is some of the interior quality bits that should have been included. Rear vents missing, better headliner material, road noise needs to be tones down, no trunk close handle. Among other things.

The Greatest Modern Affordable Performance Vehicle

There is a lot I can say about the Elantra N. As a 42 year old professional, I never considered this car. Too boy racer, too loud, too distracting. What would my colleagues say- my friends, my wife, my kids? After test driving the N, I knew the answer was "Who cares!". Coming of age in the 90s when the import car scene was just being born, I recall fondly how much fun it was to toss around small turbo charged cars like the Eclipse/Talon or driving turbo charged Civics. I like to think of the EN as the closest modern example of these 90s sports coupes. Sure, the EN is high tech, but you are essentially able to purchase your 90s dream build brand new off the factory floor at an affordable price. It's already loud, it's already low, it already has beautiful wheels, it looks the part and you even get some beautiful bolstered seats in leather and suede. It's faster than 99% of the traffic you will come across. It is extremely engaging to drive and everything just works. I am able to stuff it with 4 kids and backpacks/gear to take kids to school. I've gotten 36mpg on long commutes. It has all the practicality of a Toyota Camry, but it is actually fun to drive. This car turns every drive in to an event. Are we going to do a lazy drive? Leave it in normal. Feel like ripping through traffic and doing insanely illegal and dangerous maneuvers? N Mode. Feel like a relaxed drive but want more exhaust sound? Custom N mode. This is a very practical and economic performance vehicle with minimal compromises. You can have your cake and eat it too! My only complaint is ingress/egress. It can be taxing to get in and out of the vehicle over and over again. The seats are low and the bolstering makes exiting tricky. But once you're in, you're in and you aren't going anywhere.

Great bang for buck

Sporty sedan for the price point. Spacious enough to fit a family. Great styling. Decent performance. Nothing major I dislike about the car but there are a handful of little things I find annoying.

Fun car but It's kind of stressful to own.

It's been good but stressful. Fun car with more than enough power for fun when you want a spirited drive in a nice daily driven car, but I've run into a few problems already. The car is requesting a check on the electric vacuum pump after only 3200 miles. This is stressful when it's a newer car when potential major problems just pop up. This is the second time the car has alerted me about a possible malfunction, firs it was the transmissions software according to the dealer maintenance. Thise time I'm taking it in again to get the electric vacuum pump checked. Both problems being connected to what I think are very important components that could make the car unsafe to drive. I hope this doesn't become a trend, but the warranty helps a lot. I want this to be a car I can keep for a long time, not just something to drive until the warranty runs out.

Great with some flaws

Bumper clips are weak and come loose or off in high speeds and dealers won’t warranty it. Octane learning is very annoying and there’s no indication of being learned.

This vehicle is stylish and fun to drive. Only flaw i ran into is that it does not have a spare tire and emergency services take forever to reach your location.
