Lots of issues

Too much technology with push required. You have to take your eyes off the road to turn fan up/down, heated seats and steering wheel up/down, etc. Go back to knobs. Radio is bad. I selected my favorite station, but the car turns it to Reuters all the time. This has started to slow down. Yesterday, my station was playing and all of a sudden the map comes on with Reuters. Can't get the floor mats off to clean.

My Hyundia Tucson, Loving Every Minute

Having owned seven other vehicles prior to this purchase (Toyota, Honda, Nissan (2), Ford & Infinity), this is my first experience with Hyundai. The Tucson was the perfect size that I was looking for in an SUV. The dashboard was fascinating to me, and I love the way everything is setup there. I love the app that I can access to find out things I need to know about my vehicle. I love the ride, but I override that gas saving feature. I also love the fact that I can use regular as opposed to premium gas which my last three cars required. The factory warranty is GREAT. I do wish I had the garage opener feature on my car, I was accustomed to this feature in my other vehicles.

2025 Tuscon July 28th 2025

Bought late July 2025 Love the car, even if it almost got me killed, I came to a slight left hand curve on a two lane road, speed limt 45 mph, cruise control was on, there was a semi, with a flat bed trailer, it was loaded with large boxes, it had pulled into the grass off the road, as I approached the truck the car slammed on its brakes the car behind me had swerved into the on coming lane or he would have rear ended me. Needless to say, I have disabled that feature. Other than that I like the car, not totally in love with cruise control, if you need to change upward or downward there appears no way to do it outside of shutting off the car. I like the drivers seat, interior lighting leaves a little to be desired. It is roomy, spacious seating in the rear is good. There are a lot of features to learn, I think buttons would have been better. Haven`t encountered all the features yet. Oh yes, the Navigation on the car sucks, I have loaded Android Auto, and Waze, trying them both out.

Good overall with a few minor problems

We have had an electronics glitch (heads-up display goes blank intermittently) for almost 6 months. The dealership said a module was ordered and will be installed when if comes in. It was supposed to arrive 6 weeks ago. NO WORD YET!

A great car with a few flaws

I like the overall design, ride and handling. Excellent driver safety features and infotainment system. I have the following issues: I selected the SEL convenience package. It comes with a useless mood lighting feature but lacks an important safety feature which is the little radar buttons at the back that warn you of a collision with a stationary object by beeping at increasing frequency as you are about to hit the object. To get this feature I would have to go with higher trims with features I don't need and the penalty of increasing costs. Even worse, higher trims would force me into going with larger rims which means less tire rubber, increased ride harshness and increased risk of damage from potholes which are numerous where I live. I wanted to go with a hybrid, but the lack of a spare wheel was a non-starter. the mobility kit cannot resolve all flats. Nothing worse than getting a flat that cannot be repaired in a remote area. I waited for this model year as it added physical controls for the climate and radio. However, a frequently used control is the fan speed and this is still by touch, which means you need to take your eyes off the road to access. A rotary knob would be a great addition (I have it on my 2016 Sante Fe Sport and it is SO convenient). I tried voice commands to set up the fan speed but they don't always work and it is awkward. I like to downshift the gears to help with braking. Most of them are fairly smooth but the shift from 2nd to 1st is very abrupt and unpleasant. It is available only under 20 mph. I had several older Hyundai and Kia cars in the past and they all had a much smoother downshift between these two gears. My worst gripe is the status lights on the climate control panel. The blue A/C status LED and the yellow LEDs for the other controls on that panel, like the heated seats, defroster etc. They are very dim and are practically invisible in bright daylight. Again, requiring to stare at the panel for a long time to figure out the status and not looking at the road. I thought it was my particular car but a friend of mine leased a Tucson Hybrid and it has the same issue.

Vehicle is just okay. Has sensor lights going off all the time. I'm told that will just happen due to bug splatter or light fog from service center. Small fuel tank, gets decent fuel milage though, just more often visits than accustomed to. Heat takes a while, maximum heat will take about 10-15 mins to achieve warmth in the vehicle, even after running 10 mins during remote start-up. Vehicle is slow to take off from stops; there is a 3-5 second delay after applying the gas petal before the vehicle decides to move. This issue is less than a second or up to a second in sport mode. It also helps to turn of the auto start/stop. It reduces each time by about 1/2.

Santa Fe Sport 2T vs Tucson Limited

Really like this vehicle (tucson) Love the safety features, smooth and quiet drive. It isn't a turbo which is my fault for my vehicle selection. Going from a Santa Fe Sport to the Tucson was an adjustment ... smaller vehicle, lower the ground and given the choice again, I would chose the turbo.
