I’ve driven a Hyundai for the last 27 years

I have a Tucson 2023 that I bought new. I love the stylish side panels and sleek design. I have noticed the paint scratches easily so I would suggest a good wax when you fist purchase the SUV. The blind spot alarm will drive you mad if you live in an area that has lots of two lane turns and the lane assist doesn’t understand construction areas where the painted lines are all over the place. The back up camera can get water spots on it and my daughter’s car is another brand and her camera also shows an above the car view which really helps with backing up. My back up sensor doesn’t always alert me so I am always scare I will back into something. The car has a few little quirks but overall I love it! It’s fun to drive and has lots of space.

Tech forward with flaws

Breaks wear with in 10k miles, steering wheel wobbles a tiny bit, you can feel it in your hands. Steering wheel too heavy when making turns. Lane keeping assist goes crazy and can’t hold the steering wheel in the lane when hitting even small bumps. Engine has no power at low rpm. Panoramic moon roof creeks and cabin creeks, very unpleasant sounds in the cabin. Automatic windshield wipers are slow to reach, sometimes you couldn’t see anything from the windshield and need to manually turn on the vipers.

Nice ride

It’s hard to believe but in this vehicle, you cannot lock your doors with the inside lock button! You have to have your keys with you and stand at the door and rub your hand on the handle. God forbid someone carried your purse with the groceries into to the house. It’s also not fun in the very hot Arizona heat or monsoons because you can’t lock and run and it often takes several attempts to lock/unlock. I hope you can hear my frustration. It also doesn’t have a compass. I didn’t realize how often I used one until it wasn’t there. These are simple things that seem to be on everyone else’s car, but mine. The car lock button would have been a dealbreaker if I had known. I traded in my 2014 Chrysler 300 that had these things and climate control (which my Tucson doesn’t have). Hyundai seems to be a few years behind. All of the road assistance technology is wonderful, but it really shouldn’t have to be at the sake of a lock button and compass, right?

Mostly very good, but unnecessarily cheap materials

The car is generally pretty nice. A few occasional minor glitches with the tech parts in the first two years. The upholstery, which was sold to us as leather (but later found that it was "leatherette") is very cheap and tore relatively quickly. After the sale service was terrible. Lots of nooks and crannies on the exterior look nice but are difficult to clean.
