My 2024 Sonata, my best sonata yet

I have been driving a Hyundai for the past 23 years, and have found my 2024 Sonata to be the best vehicle of all I have either purchased or leased.

Some issues

I've had my lights(inside & outside) turn off a few times while driving, then they would turn back on after a few seconds. Not being able to unlock my trunk, while car is running, without hitting the inside button first is annoying.

Very nice car

A few quality issues

The rear bumper cover is popping out on both sides. If you push back they come right out. When I go to the dealership for oil changes and bring it up. They always they don’t have a technician on hand to look at it. Also the OEM equipped tires are failing. I don’t know if the dealership is lying to me but the all of the tires are cupped. Creating a very loud drive on the highway and causing handling issues. We also have a 2018 Honda Accord. Right now we are choosing to drive the Accord. Do. Or like the fact that I can only lock the door with the key fob or by touching the door handling. I like the security of pushing the button on the interior door to lock vehicle as the exterior a lot of the time does not work and then I have to dig out the keys which defeats the whole proximity purpose. Would I recommend this car to someone. Honestly only for economical reasons. I think I would steer them in another direction.

A Must Have!!!

Very elegant looking car. Like the light color silver, outside. The light color inside, however, with the cloth material, it's not easy to avoid spots. The ride is very smooth, the Stirling wheel is light and easy. Now enjoying the drive, park and reverse on one device under the sterling wheel. Radio, sound... great. Love the designed hub caps and the body style is elegant and rich looking. Good on gas mileage.

Disappointed and this my worst Sonata.

I am so unhappy with this Sonata and this is my fourth one. It shifts very rough, and the dealership says nothing wrong. I'm 71 and know how a car should shift. Next the dash and monitor keeps dimming and they didn't fix it. Also the screen went totally black for a minute or two didn't even address that. Lastly there is a rubber piece that goes on the bottom of grill (the last piece on the front of the car) it keeps coming off because I bumped a car stopper that was higher. The dealership said Hyundai wouldn't fix it because it wasn't defective, but if you just bump that a tears it of and splits the two little holes to me is defective shouldn't come off that easy. Lastly the USB ports don't always work so I can play my USB or portable Cd player. I have the right cords. Again the dealership says they can't do anything about it. Most unhappy with the car and dealership who I've been with about 13 years and third car I have bought from them...

Do not buy

Vehicle shut off on me at night while driving down a road and issue was never resolved with dealership. I have tool marks all over the plastic in the car from the dealership ripping the car apart. Nothing was done to fix this. Do not buy.

On, off, on, off

Bought it 7/2024. April 2025 instrument panel goes on & off. Dealership mechanics don’t see it off, don’t see a problem. Finally replaces the panel, completely, June 2025. New panel goes on & off just like the first one. Everything else is ok. Searched the problem & its not just us. Hyundai, what do you say?

Technology loaded, difficult for seniors to master.

Great auto that I’m learning to operate. Not happy with the radio sound system. The radio doesn’t accept CDs or a downloaded music chip, flash drive. My cell phone doesn’t play music, as I needed a cell phone for conversations and texting not music.
