Great Vehicle With Amazing Mileage!

I love my 2023 Santa Fe PHEV! I get excellent gas mileage, especially during the spring and summer months. Currently, I’m getting 90mpg! The vehicle holds a lot of groceries, fits adults comfortably, and meets my needs and expectations. I love all of the fancy features like remote start, my panoramic roof, heated and ventilated seats, and real-time camera views of my turn signals on my car dash. There have been a couple issues, like phantom signal turn alerts “check your turn signal.” I’ve brought this up at my free maintenance services (for the first 3 years) and they can’t find the problem. My other issue is that I bought my car shortly before the 2024 versions came out and Hyundai decided to offer their bluelink service for free. After 3 years of owning my vehicle, I’ll have to pay for this expensive overpriced service. Bluelink should not cost money unless you want to pay for extra services within the application like emergency services.

Don't buy this vehicle

Doesn't accelerate for .5-1seconds after pushing the accelerator. Makes a large clunk when shifting and will stutter at slow speeds uphill while turning. Dealer "fixed" the issue by replacing the rear differential, which helped with the clunking/suttering for about 6 months before the problem came back. Cannot reliably run on just battery power (would engage the engine on 1mi drives for school pickup and would engage engine when charge was full by fuel was almost empty).

Love my Santa Fe - Want more battery storage though

Works great, very reliable and we found an excellent service center in Florida but I do wish we could go more then 30 miles on a charge. It is very reliable and comfortable and has been a great purchase so far!

EV range not as advertised

The EV range is listed at 30 miles. Florida is absolutely flat and I have never gotten this range. The auto needs a bigger battery. Nice ride, though. The brackets near the left rear wheel which hold coolant lines in place, have failed causing the lines to bounce against the chassis. When I first received the vehicle, it listed the fully fueld, filly charged range at over 600 miles. I believe OTA updates messed with this figure. Unfortunately, Hyundai chose to unsuccessfully a Range Rover for 2025 when they could have refined the design and they dropped the plug-in (probably due to headaches with the vehicle).

Good, but could be better

Nice car comfortable ride, but the car should act more like a hybrid than a plug-in hybrid. I get about 30 miles on a charge thinking I should be getting a lot more.

Review of my Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-in hybrid

The car is very well designed and comfortable to drive. The distance to empty indication read about 200 miles too high after a fillup. This is a very simple calculation that is not done correctly by the firmware the car uses.

Hyundai remains a great choice

This is my second Hyundai Santa Fe. The first was replaced with a minivan while the kids were young. I really liked the first Santa Fe, so when it was time to replace the minivan, I didn't spend a lot of time researching. I was lucky enough to find this _very_ low mileage service loaner with all the original warranties. This made a car that is already a good value a great value. Everyone that rides in this car is impressed with it. The cabin is quiet and roomy. The mileage is excellent. There are more features than I know what to do with. I love the fact that I can plug it in and get 30+ miles on 100% electricity. I will continue to purchase Hyundai vehicles. I've already purchased three and I won't hesitate to buy another when the need arises.

Overall This Is a Terrific Vehicle

In the big picture I really like the car. There are some exceptions. The "Infotaniment" system is super slow to start up and slow and laggy to switch between functions. It's a good thing so many of the controls have physical switches. If they didn't I would take off at least one star. Maybe two. So far the build quality appears to be holding up. One exception, the part of the panel by the driver's elbow squeaks when leaned on. It's not a huge issue - yet. Maybe it won't be but it squeaked within the first couple thousand miles. The degree to which Hyundai spies on the vehicle is a huge problem. I warn people all the time when they ask if I like it or would recommend it.

Love the car!

Love lots of the features on the especially all the safety features. It’s been reliable. The hybrid helps with gas use when driving local which is what I mostly do.

Comfortable, great features

The Santa Fe fits our needs! We wanted a vehicle that could run on a battery for our trips around town, but still offer the gasoline option for our longer trips. We are grateful for the Hyundai warranty because we bought it certified pre-owned and have had it in the shop a couple times in the past year to fix some issues that came up. If I were to improve the vehicle, it would be to add a couple inches more legroom for the backseat passengers and to improve the ventilation to the backseat.

An amazing and comfortable vehicle

I love my Hyundai SantaFe Plug-in Hybrid! It is a comfortable vehicle to drive, and it gets amazing milage, once you learn how to drive a hybrid, which if you haven't done so before, is a bit of a learning curve. I am regularly getting 450 miles out of a full tank and full charge, and I do a combination of city and highway driving. The display is good, and located well, and easy to navigate.
