Great car but need to warm up for deep freezes

The car works and rides wonderfully. Only warning is that electric engine need to warm up for 5-10 minutes when weather 20 degrees and below. In mid drive, engine light will flash and then shut down...which is a driving hazard, especially on Highway.

Great for low mileage driving in city. Good gas mileage for long dis

Single full charge is 50 miles which is great for running errands around town. Very comfortable for long trips and good gas mileage. Nice to charge in regular outlet..Just takes longer. Need to include converter for docking bags that are not Hyundai or Tesla, especially when traveling across country. Tried using other charging sites like at grocery stores and gas stations, but not always charge even with that charging site's app. Do need to charge daily if not every other day. After being unable to recharge for two weeks, noticed some issues occurring with engine and electronics, even when gas tank was Full. Advised dealership.

Failure in multiple design areas

I've had this car for 3 years, it fails to deliver on its basic premise for multiple reasons. Up front the car gets about an average of 31 MPG. It has an extremely poor system for managing when the engine needs to turn on. It has no heat pump so it needs to run the engine whenever you need heat, it will seemingly inexplicably turn on even on short trips for prolonged periods. The engine's air intake system can sometimes freeze shut which results in complete shut down. This was a scary moment because it's most likely to happen on the freeway. It seems thrown together, like they just put a bigger battery and charger on the hybrid model. The car will also hesitate when you hit the gas from a stop, you just enough power to get you into traffic but then it takes a second or two for it to ramp up leading to some interesting situations. I have trouble with it in the car wash because most require your vehicle to be in neutral, which is fine until you need to exit because this car for some reason demands that you hit the break to shift from N to D so you can't pull away from the exit. I also had a bulge on a factory tire they wouldn't fix under warranty. The center console is filled with buttons, most of which you'll never use. The infotainment system claims to have a bunch of features that never worked properly. The seats are very comfortable though, and the interior is a little cheap but decent. Personally, I would never buy another Hyundai or Kia.

Great hybrid SUV for a reasonable price.

We love our hybrid Santa Fe. It’s the perfect size for us and the 30 mile distance on electric gets us to most places during the week.

Top notch

Very nice, well built car. Fit and finish is excellent, it's quiet and comfortable. Good handling and brakes are very good. Everything has been working well and I am very pleased. This is my first Hyundai but I would certainly buy one again. Also, gas milage has been excellent but a slightly bigger gas tank would be nice to have. The style, design, features, room, storage area ........... are perfect. The 3-row Santa Fe was a little too large for me so the 2023 model was chosen.

Disappointing.

The gas engine comes on far more frequently than it should. This means my usual short trips are often on gas rather than on battery. In spite of giving Hyundai plenty of records the maintenance department could not correct the problem or explain why it was happening. Additionally, the vehicle does not have a conventional trip meter. Every time the vehicle stops it resets to zero. Hence on long journeys, where a few stops are normal, the information is useless. How many total miles; what gas consumption over the entire journey -- one needs a bit of paper, a pen, and a calculator. Similar problem when the gas tank is filled -- it resets to zero.

Cheaply made

I won’t be buying a Hyundai again, mostly for the experience at the Hyundai Dealership in Folsom CA. They tried swapping out the car for a different one (same color, different VIN) under my nose while I was in the purchasing process. Super shady business tactics. The car looks good but the build quality is pretty poor. There are multiple annoying things with it (regularly loses all my presets and settings I set up, rear lift gate has issues and randomly stops and has a loose nut inside that I can hear jangling around, pressurized gas tank makes sudden noises as if I was rear ended, spoiler on back door is not installed properly so the plastic is twisting, back up auto brake is too sensitive and suddenly stops as if we hit something when there is plenty of space or nothing there at all besides a shadow on the ground). Cheaply made.

Great Car, but for One Thing

I love everything about this car, except for one feature that has irked me since purchase. I get mid--60s eMPG, so I'm saving a lot on fuel. I love the comfort features, and adult back seat passengers have expressed good comfort and praise for the heat/AC vent, arm rest, reclining seats and window shades. I also love the sound system and overall ride, as well as the degree of control I'm allowed with the speed control system. The one issue I HATE is the auto--locking system. I cannot get the locks to work as I want to, and I've gotten no help from customer service calls ad even got a shoulder shrug from a technician, when I inquired about changing the brake system settings. I've spent many hours searching on--line forums, etc, to no avail. Other than this frustrating feature, I'd highly recommend this car to someone who primarily drives locally, with occasional trips (the gas mileage is pretty average without the plug--in feature).

Great car with one silly flaw

I love the car. I love the feel, fit, and finish. The issue is they didn't include a trickle charger on the 12V system that runs everything in the car. So, if like me, you have a short commute and don't use the gas engine sometimes for weeks at a time you will kill the traditional battery even though you are literally plugging it into a charger every night...Seems like an oversight to me.
