Cheaply made

I won’t be buying a Hyundai again, mostly for the experience at the Hyundai Dealership in Folsom CA. They tried swapping out the car for a different one (same color, different VIN) under my nose while I was in the purchasing process. Super shady business tactics. The car looks good but the build quality is pretty poor. There are multiple annoying things with it (regularly loses all my presets and settings I set up, rear lift gate has issues and randomly stops and has a loose nut inside that I can hear jangling around, pressurized gas tank makes sudden noises as if I was rear ended, spoiler on back door is not installed properly so the plastic is twisting, back up auto brake is too sensitive and suddenly stops as if we hit something when there is plenty of space or nothing there at all besides a shadow on the ground). Cheaply made.

Great Car, but for One Thing

I love everything about this car, except for one feature that has irked me since purchase. I get mid--60s eMPG, so I'm saving a lot on fuel. I love the comfort features, and adult back seat passengers have expressed good comfort and praise for the heat/AC vent, arm rest, reclining seats and window shades. I also love the sound system and overall ride, as well as the degree of control I'm allowed with the speed control system. The one issue I HATE is the auto--locking system. I cannot get the locks to work as I want to, and I've gotten no help from customer service calls ad even got a shoulder shrug from a technician, when I inquired about changing the brake system settings. I've spent many hours searching on--line forums, etc, to no avail. Other than this frustrating feature, I'd highly recommend this car to someone who primarily drives locally, with occasional trips (the gas mileage is pretty average without the plug--in feature).

Great car with one silly flaw

I love the car. I love the feel, fit, and finish. The issue is they didn't include a trickle charger on the 12V system that runs everything in the car. So, if like me, you have a short commute and don't use the gas engine sometimes for weeks at a time you will kill the traditional battery even though you are literally plugging it into a charger every night...Seems like an oversight to me.

I am so happy with this purchase!

This car is comfortable in the front and rear seats. I love the panoramic glass roof that lets in natural light. The ride is smooth and we get great gas mileage! I love the option of electric and gas.

Great dirving car

The Santa Fe Plug In is great for all of our needs. It's quiet on the highway. Handles well. We get good gas mileage in Hybrid mode. The electric mode is great for daily commute in warm weather. I only wish the heater was electric in the winter time since the engine run to make the heat. Kind of defeats the purpose of the EV mode.

Good drive but issues with trunk

While I like driving my vehicle and like the electric hybrid aspect, my trunk is out of alignment a little over 2 years after purchase and is thus out of "alignment warranty." I have spent extensive time trying to correct this, including 4 trips to a dealership not close to my house, to no avail. Incredibly frustrating and will likely switch companies in the future.

Loving My Santa Fe

Loving my Santa Fe PHEV, my trips to gas stations are down to every other month. Drove it cross country and it was great. With all the highway driving assistance this vehicle has made driving a breeze.

Easy + Comfy

This is my second Hyundai, first Hyundai SUV. It's not eye-catching, but it is thoughtfully designed. I especially love the interior design and comfort. In an auto world where everything requires complex screen navigation, I appreciate the panel of buttons for frequent access. Reliable, roomy, economical. Provides just about everything I need in an auto!

Very happy with the choice

Very happy with the choice we made. It drives and handle well. Here are some things for improvement. 1. We really did not like the color choices. The blue was not even blue but another shade of grey. We want a color that does not blend in with every otter color in the parking lot. 2. Some time the warning lights go on randomly and stay on until one turns off and on the car. This seem to have most when the on button is pushed quickly at first. There should be an easy means to have it to a reset check to see what warning lights should be on. 3. The child safety lock is too easily pushed on the drivers door side. It often gets push by mistake when one is trying to open/shut windows or lock/unlock door without looking. 4. The display should always show what mode one is in (electric / gas). 5. The range of 30 miles is of course nice a longer range would be better. 6. The same way the hybrid battery is recharge through breaking, etc, the battery driving the electric mode should get recharged the same way once the hybrid batters is fully charged. 7. The automatic driving mode pulls the car uncomfortably close when the car in front stops. We have never hit but it comes much closer than necessary. 8. One should be able to connect the phone via blue tooth not just to use the phone feature but to use the navigation feature connectivity

Make this vehicle again, Hyundai

The 2023 Santa Fe PHEV is a reasonably stylish, user-friendly SUV with a great solution to efficiency and energy sustainability. This practical, comfortable and good looking vehicle delivers 80MPG for a typical local commuter, with great technology, features and comfort. The PHEV provides very low emissions commuting with 30 mile EV range, supplemented by seamless conversion to high efficiency hybrid driving for longer ranges. The car looks nice, drive well and is well appointed, with the possible exception of cheaper seat materials. Hyundai should not walk away from the PHEV platform, and should create a car with styling and appointments similar to the 2023 Santa Fe. The departure from this to the new Santa Fe, with no PHEV option, is disappointing.
