BBDH LaRoyce that is!

I absolutely love my Sante Fe Hybrid. The drive the interior and the fact that it basically takes care of its self it’s definitely a girls girl when it comes to maintenance. The interior gives high end foreign and the ambient lighting is what sealed the deal for me. My family of 5 is comfortable not only because of space but also the amenities it offers.

2025 Santa Fe attempts to accomplish too much

The instrument contol configuration is both too small and poorly located. The process of turning on the radio is overly complicated taking as many as four steps to turn it on. The default on the radio should be to "favorites" not the most recent frequency played. The door locks should be able to be activated as leaving the car, not only by the handle upon leaving the car. The Pirelli tires are terrible in water. The instrument panel seems to have a mind of its own at times, eliminating blue tooth and car play contacts at whim. The owners manual is an organizational joke with an index that is nearly useless and not based on any common sense. ...and more...

Great Vehicle

This has met all of our expectations. We do miss the 2 driver seat settings and the linked garage opener. We didn’t realize that the model level we chose didn’t have it. Otherwise, we are very pleased with the performance and the mpg.

Safety features turned into PTSD

The safety features on this vehicle contributed to hard braking on the interstate when it felt that I wasn’t watching the road enough, it also drove me over a double yellow line into oncoming traffic. I cannot go by that curve without significant heart palpitations. This was the worst investment and the dealership was absolutely horrible. I’ve made it my personal mission to educate everyone on purchasing that vehicle in our area due to the limited access to Warranty dealers and feel I have averaged about one purchase a month educating them against this vehicle.

love my new car

I drove a lot of cars before buying this 18 months ago. I have not been disappointed! It handles nicely in the snow, it's a pleasure to drive, has lots of room and the tech is driver friendly.

Love my Hyundai!

I've owned Toyota Hybrids and Hyundai Hybrids. I am pleased with both but the Santa Fe really gives me the flexibility I need for the family. I realize my Santa Fe is new but I've not had any problems with it. The service department is always friendly, take their time with me and ask if I have any concerns. It does take me about 40 minutes to drive to their location so I do wish they were closer.

Good, Bad, and Ugly

First let me say in so many ways this is a dream vehicle. But when it was purchased i was told that i could turn off the eye sensor and that was a lie. It cannot be turned off. There is a feature that suggests you can turn it off but when you are in cruise control, there is absolutely no way to disconnect it. This has made driving my dream vehicle a nightmare. I drive on the interstate a couple hundred miles a day so I am often using my cruise. I am a short woman so unless I am sitting forward it does not always see my eyes. Sometimes turning the wheel will block my eyes. Whenever it cannot see my eyes it starts beeping and shuts down the cruise control. This is so dangerous. While driving I am constantly fighting with the vehicle to stay in cruise. If I wear sunglasses that also shuts it down. But driving at night is the worse. I think it does not detect between my eyes and black skin. So at night it constantly triggers the shut off because it cannot "see" my eyes. I've considered getting rid of the vehicle because driving it makes me angry. Also, I did not know it doesn't come with a spare until I got a flat tire. They say there is no place to put a spare but that's not true. I had to pay extra to have the under vehicle spare kit installed.

Solid vehicle

Great car. Size is perfect. Wish it were a tad higher off the ground. Has decent pick up. Gas mileage of the hybrid is not as high as it should be and what we were told.

Good vehicle some improvements could be made

Santa Fe is comfortable has good pick up. Climate control works well however it rides like an old pick up truck. The assisted driving leaves much to be desired. If someone is turning in front of you and even though you have enough room to go around them as you normally would it slams on the brakes, even after the car clears the intersection completely.

Having major issues with our 2025 Santa Fe Hybrid

We are currently having major issues where the car suddenly slows down and would not accelerate while driving on the highway. Our car is currently with a dealer in New Jersey as the incident happened a second time in a span of one month after two trips to the service maintenance in New Jersey and Charlotte NC and being assured car is fine. We are no longer confident to drive the car back to NC.

Dumb safety future causes major use inconvenience

My older Santa Fe with automatic distance cruise control worked fine without an eye monitoring system for the driver. The new Santa Fe has this new eye monitoring combined with the automatic distance cruise control. Well well you can not use any type of cruise control on the new safety system while wearing sunglasses. The main place where you would want to use cruise control is on long highway drive the exact same place where you would want to wear sunglasses to reduce eye fatigue. They treat sunglasses like an unapproved accessory and the vehicle's sun visor is the only allowable form of sun glare protection. The eye monitor system is so bad it even activates frequently as blocked view of eyes on prescription glasses so Lasik or contacts only. Occasionally it even activates when looking straight ahead eyes wide open dealer says if I raise my steering wheel that wouldn't happen as much because the sensor is on the steering column. So to use cruise control I have to live with sun glare and have steering wheel in uncomfortable position. I feel like I've been sold a future cruise control that doesn't actually exist. I've gone to two different dealerships they were both like yes we know there is no fix and Hyundai thinks it is a great future. So this is not a specific issue to my vehicle.

Vehicle has been in the shop for about three months in the first year

Here’s the revised version with the timeline included: I have experienced multiple major issues with my vehicle during the first year of ownership, resulting in approximately three months of total time in the service department. July 3, 2025: The first issue was an electrical problem where the vehicle would randomly honk while it was locked during rainy weather. The dealership determined that moisture was getting into an electrical component/control box, which had to be replaced. April 11, 2026 (approximately 6:00 AM): The vehicle developed a serious acceleration problem and would not accelerate beyond approximately 32 MPH. I returned it to the dealership, where the transmission was replaced. May 26, 2026 (approximately 6:19 AM): Just a few weeks later, the exact same acceleration issue occurred again. The dealership had to involve Hyundai Corporate engineers to assist with diagnosing the problem. Based on their recommendations, the dealership replaced a fuel pump (or fuel system component). Despite these major repairs, I have spent approximately three months without reliable use of my vehicle during my first year of ownership. This has been extremely frustrating and has significantly impacted my confidence in the vehicle’s reliability. I purchased this vehicle expecting dependable transportation, and instead I have experienced repeated major mechanical and electrical failures in its first year.

new transmission already?!

Had the vehicle for less than two years, at 15,000 miles the transmission needed replacement and it's still flaring - early indications of more trouble to come, thank god for warrantees.

Easy to Drive, Infotainment is Difficult

I like just about everything on it, except for the way that Apple Car Play interacts with the infotainment. I am glad it is wireless, but once you are using Car Play, you have to completely get out of it to do anything else, unlike my wife's Palisade. In her Palisade, you can have the SiriusXM show on the side and the Waze, from Car Play, on the other side. For me to use the Waze navigation and then see what artist I am listening to on SiriusXM, I have to get out of the Car Play display, swipe right, click on the Sirius XM function and then click on the active station. Then, do the same to get back to Waze. That is a lot to do while driving, especailly, when they are able to be both on the same screen in other edition besides the Calligraphy. Also, on the Sirius XM player, it has a terrible use of the screen space. It limits the characters that it will show and does not scroll across either. There is plenty of space to show the full artist and song title, but it limits it for no reason. The last thing is the sports following "feature." It has very odd sports for an American model. It doesn't have American football and has other sports that aren't even on TV here most of the time.
