I love the car but transmission and car lock could use work

I hate the fact that the car does not lock on its own. There are also too many instances when I lean against a counter or something and it hits my keys and unlocks the car. The phone app is nearly unusable for walking up to the car and unlocking it. Tesla's app is substantially better. The transmission only works in normal mode. The other modes make the transmission extremely jerky and the car does not accelerate well during low speeds, there is a huge delay in power then it all of the sudden kicks into gear and goes. Not smooth at all. It is only smooth under constant acceleration. Also the ventilating seats could be more powerful. In the summer they basically stay in high speed the whole time because the CFM is so low.

I LOVE my truck!

I have wanted to own a truck for as long as I can remember, and I am thrilled to own my Santa Cruz! Great style and a peppy engine in the limited edition. Comfortable front bucket seats that are heated/cooled. Bose sound system puts out clear, pure sounds. Navigation is great and allows for updates. Overall a great value for the money!

Vehicle "ok", Taylor Hyundai not so much

Fine overall. Drive it little. Tailgate only opens with fob. Taylor attempted to fix. I wanted to leave it but was told courtesy shuttle would not take me to my home 23 miles away, so I had to leave .Under warranty. Cortland was service writer. I was not told this by Toledo office where I bought it. Need addressed.

Enjoyable and reliable

Nice little truck. Wanted a smaller vehicle with versatility of I like that I can transport items for home repair but still have the feel of a SUV. My only complaint is gas mileage and that the gps constantly alerts me that the wrong way is detected check driving directions at an intersection that has never been one way in the 50 some years that I have lived in the area.

2024 Santa Cruz

I really like my Santa Cruz, I’m an old guy and I wanted the safety features. For the money my SEL should have front collision avoidance, it doesn’t. And it should have the 360 degree camera, it doesn’t. My 22 Outlander had them and I miss them, and it was less money. The hood latch keeps falling off day after I bought it. No help from the dealer. The dash always has dust on the screen and odometer, too much black. I like that this has a real transmission, my outlander had a rubber band transmission and it went out at 16807 miles. Overall I like the Santa Cruz so far. I have a little over 9k miles in a little over a year. Great gas mileage. I like ke the cluster turning colors, the red is sharp. Also love ke the warranty. Thanks for building such a nice truck for an old farm boy!

My Best & safe fun truck

I feel safe in it & I Like the way it handles. I sit high enough to see around me. I like all the electronics on my dash. I love my free blue link. I find it easy to handle & love the stylish look.

Great vehicle except one thing.

Love the Santa Cruz. Rides nice,good gas mileage and peppy. Excellent features. Great interior and comfortable. Would definitely buy again. My only complaint is the wipers. When driving at 40 or above, the wiper fluid barely makes it onto the windshield and barely clears the window so you can see. This is especially bad when driving in winter condtions.

Best of both worlds

I maybe the wrong person for this review, because I am bias. I have owned a Hyundai Vehicle since 1999. I love them all. I prayed that they would build a truck and they come up with a better idea, the Santa Cruz. You have a Suv and a truck all in one . LOVE IT

Pretty handy vehicle

Good overall vehicle. Have a little trouble with the android play connecting sometimes. Handles pretty well on dirt roads and in snow but the factory tires are awful. Other than that it's a comfortable ride with sufficient room and adequate storage space

love driving it.

Not happy with navigation rout planning. routs are not the way I would go and selecting or modifying routs are not an option. Finding POI does not help. places no longer exist, My iPod will not work in usb port. Junk drive will not let me select songs categories. Power outlet in bed of trunk is useless. will not run anything but a cell phone?

Great pickup, fun to drive.

I've had 5 other pickup trucks in the past. My Santa Cruz is definitely my favorite. The SC is quiet, practical and has a beautiful interior. The turbo engine has great power and the dual-clutch transmission has worked flawlessly.

This is my first Hyundai and I would not have bought it with a lesser warranty. Thus far everything has been flawless. I wish the vehicle was available with a turbo and the standard 8 spd transmission.

All the room like an SUV and a truck together, can't ask for more!

I drove a full size pick up truck for many years. The Santa Cruz drives like a car with the options of a truck. We took on a road trip and it drove great on the highway too, all the safety and comfort options we need.

Great vehicle

This is a great mini truck that fits my needs well. Runs great, gets great gas mileage. Very stylish and drives great. My only concern long term with it are the transmission issues many have with the SC.

Love the convenience features but towing was disappointing

After two years of ownership, we had an oil pan leak, covered under warranty. It took a couple of times taking it back into the dealer for them to fix the issue. Red McCombs is not my favorite dealer but they are closest to my home. I was disappointed that a towing truck didn’t have the hitch included. The dealer couldn’t provide much information on using it to tow. I called HQ and they didn’t provide any clarifying information either. We purchased it anyway because I’m a 4 car Hyundai customer. It towed our small motorcycle trailer and Harley Classic great on our vacation out west 4k miles roundtrip with no issues. I do wish the 360 bird view was available for the vehicle. More recently it seems to idle a little high. It will be due for service in another 600 miles so will see if Red McCombs can fix that issue. The backseat is not made for adults. If you have small children it will be fine. An audial wouldn’t be able to travel comfortably from San Antonio to Austin. As expensive as it was you would think the front passenger seat controls would be electric they are not. I picked the Santa Cruz over the Toyota because of the safety and convenience package on it. I hate how low the monitor is for the GPS. I loved my Santa Fe as it’s monitor sat nice and high. Being low is a distraction and safety concern for me. I really do feel ripped off by Red McCombs sells department. They were not transparent with their extended warranty and dealer mark ups at all. The day I bought the car, I almost walked out because I had a bad feeling I was being lied to. I was right after doing more investigating on my contract. I had already signed and the contract my calls and messages were ignored after that. So there you have it. Overall, I like my truck but will rethink using Red McCombs for my purchase next year. I absolutely loved my Santa Fe but it couldn’t tow 2500lbs according to the manual. I would definitely still have it if it did.

2024 Stone Blue XRT

I had a 2013 Veloster but I grew too old for it, needed something much higher. Much like the Veloster, I saw the SC in 2022 and loved the styling. Ive had it one year/3300 miles so I dont drive alot. But I love it every time I do. Get a turbo version, it's a pocket rocket! It has a couple like quirks but so does every car out there. The one thing stands out is that you set all sorts of settings from the dash. But use the phone to start and all my settings are changed. If thats the worst, Im just great with it. Also it does NOT come with a matching power passenger seat!
