Almost Perfect but not quite - Holding out on the 5th Star

Almost perfect but not quite is the summary of my review. I had high hopes with the Palisade Hybrid. Despite it being a brand new powertrain (new gas engine mated to a new hybrid system) I put my faith in the robust powertrain warranty that Hyundai offers and pulled the trigger. I chose the Calligraphy model for all of its features, which ironically ended up being the decision that left me wanting more. Because of the tragic accident that involved the power folding seats, Hyundai drastically modified the availability of some of the convenience features that the vehicle originally came with. What the vehicle ended up with is a list of features that makes you wonder if shelling out the extra cash for the Calligraphy was worth it. What they did away in the name of safety made the vehicle feel less intuitive, less equipped, and less premium. Without going into the details of why some of the modifications (and removals) of features fall short of meeting my expectations, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that future OTA updates will allow better use of all of its features without risking safety of its passengers. Come on, Hyundai! You can figure this out. Do better.

Very solid option for a large hybrid

Overall, pleased with purchase. Coming from Model Y so there’s always things that don’t measure up such as you lose extra storage space and the interface of the Tesla is much better, however, being free from charging and its roomier for my 3 dogs and husband. A bit over priced and while we felt our deal was decent, still more than this car is truly worth. Some exterior panels (by the hitch receiver) are poorly done and the VESS is obnoxiously loud. The plastic grill is a bit lame but these are fairly minor to overall comfy driving vehicle.

Overall a great car for the family. It has looks and the engine performance to back it up. Only issue is I find the break little sluggish and pickup is also not quick. Also not very fun one to drive but only in sport mode which is understandable considering the mileage .

Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy Edition Is In a Class of It's Own!

The Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy is exceptionally comfortable in both city and highway driving, and the transition between electric, hybrid, and engine modes is nearly seamless. The technology feels refined and well-integrated. The seats are excellent, and the Napa leather adds a premium feel. For a heavy four-cylinder hybrid, acceleration is surprisingly strong, with no trouble merging or passing. The lane assist is the best I’ve used and is especially welcome on late-night drives. The comfort features work very well, including the heated and ventilated seats and heated steering wheel. Digital Key 2 has been flawless for unlocking, driving, locking, and controlling climate settings, though I still carry the key fob as a backup. Interior space is generally good overall. Overall, I’m extremely impressed. The Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy feels refined, practical, and feature-rich and is so fun to drive. My initial impressions so far are simple: this car is far nicer than I expected, and the well-crafted interior makes it feel even more elevated.

2026 palisade hybrid calligraphy

We bought this vehicle to take road trips since my wife and I are getting a little older and planning more excursions across the US. So far so good very comfortable car to ride and drive. The massage feature makes a difference. Controls were laid out fairly intelligently and easily accessed. Sound system is very good. I’ve read online with people don’t like it. I don’t see what they don’t like. Overall performance is very good. Acceleration is there when you need it especially in sport mode. The gas mileage is pretty good. I was hoping for a little bit better on the long trips, but to be honest, it’s better than the other vehicles. Second row seats are powered I can recline and that’s great when our teenage kids are in the car. Being able to electronically control all four backseats from the back cargo area is a great idea. The transition from all Electric to gas powered is seamless and incredibly smooth. I was actually shocked.

Best Vehicle we've ever owned

The 2026 Palisades is the best vehicle we have ever owned, hands down. From the roomy interior, comfy ride and great tech to the amazing styling of the interior and exterior. Plus the fact that it is a hybrid makes the vehicle economical as well.

Overall I am happy with the vehicle. It does have some deficiencies in the systems, but that may be because I have not yet gotten completely comfortable with the vehicle. At this point I am disappointed in the mpg. Over the first 2000 miles I have averaged 26 mpg, and I expected better than that.

Top of the line

I think this is one of the best values on the market. Loaded with luxury features and the only downside is that the motor sounds a little noisy getting up to speed.
