2025 Hyundai Kona Review

Overall the car has good safety features and easy to drive but my car came with a major issue. The dashboard will go black from time to time stating signal lost. Therefore, I am driving blind without speedometer, fuel gauge and etc. I bought the car back to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with it other than checking possible loose wires. Next time it happened again, I took a video recording while I was drive on Interstate 78 which it was very dangerous but this time, I have a recording withe the problem. They scheduled an appt for entire week with a loaner car. The loaner car was disgusting and dirty but the most challenging was to get an update on the vehicle. Long story short, I told them to be very careful about not to damage the dashboard since they are planning to take the entire panel apart and check any loose wiring. After a week in the shop, the car was fixed but it came with a price. Sure enough, my dashboard was damage with multiple scratches. The assistant service manager came out and stating they will make things right. 2 month later. I received a call stated a new dash has arrived and finally they got this replaced which took another week and without any updates. This entire process was very frustrating and avoidable if they have done the QA properly in the factory assembly line.

Kona 2025

This is my second Kona, I like the elevation of an SUV without the bulk. I previously had Tucson’s, but the Kona has plenty of room for passengers and in the cargo area.it suits my needs perfectly!

2025 kona review

I would not buy another. The Tuscon and Elantra's I had were great; the Kona leaves a lot to be desired. Too much unnecessary unused tech. I will likely go back to a subaru when it's time to get another car.

I purchased this Kona new. With gas creeping up to $5 a gallon, the mileage is decent but really decreases in winter using the heat and in summer using the ac. 41 might is average and I can live with it. The design and placement of the windshield wipers still leaves me scratching my head. Why in heavens name did someone design these wipers to NOT fully come up from the windshield? Is there a secret process I'm not aware of to get them to pull up completely from the windshield? Really bad design and cheap wiper blades front and back. The car handles ok for the most part. WhenI asked about oil change intervals at the dealership I got varying responses of evert 3 thousand miles up to every 6 thousand miles. Can someone clarify this? I thought every 3 thousand miles went the way of the dodo years ago with the use of synthetic oil. Also of note is the placement of brake lights. They seem to be to far down on the body of the rear of the car, lower than a usual line of sight from behind. Overall it's a fairly comfortable vehicle. I just hope the engine doesn't seize like my 2015 Santa Fe did.......
