Very annoying tire noise. Otherwise 10 Star vehicle

This is a great vehicle that I could not ask for more. It's got the power, comfort, convenience, and nothing more I could ask. I love this car over Range Rover sports I drove some time ago. However, one issue is that there is a tire noise or some sort of noise coming from the wheels. I have Ioniq 5 and I don't hear this at all. Even my Tesla I traded for Ioniq 5 after 4 months of ownership didn't had this tire noise. Dealer did a full inspection, but didn't find anything wrong. If it was a gasoline car, it is equivalent to a wheel baring sound I had on my Toyota about 20 year ago. It is very bothersome. Otherwise, this is a truly a great car ever! Just fix the styling for the back part......

2026 Ioniq 9

I really enjoy driving the Ionic 9. The windshield is large and allows for me to see more as I am driving. The frame of the vehicle does not create blind spots. The angle of the windshield is closer to 90 degrees which makes the view more open for me.

You asked

Would be a hard decision to make again, if the vehicle did not try to control everything and has headrests that that did not hurt my wife's neck. Already tired of it telling me I need a coffee break every 10-miles., especially on longer drives. Amazing interior room for the vehicle size, but wish the back seat was rated for three, as most likely it would be used for smaller people.

Overall good vehicle

We bought this car to replace my Rav4 as I am pregnant with our second child and wanted the ability to have 2 car seats AND a usable third row for when grandparents visit. This car meets that need exactly, and it is zippy and a nice experience to drive. My only complaint is regarding the infotainment system.

Exceptional EV with Room for Software Improvements

Overall, I have been extremely pleased with my Hyundai Ioniq 9. It offers a quiet, comfortable ride, a spacious and well-designed interior, and an impressive combination of technology, performance, and range. The vehicle is an excellent choice for both daily driving and long road trips, and I would recommend it to friends and family looking for a premium three-row electric SUV. Most of my feedback centers around the software rather than the vehicle itself. The navigation and split-screen display can be difficult to read, particularly when using the map. Some infotainment functions require more steps than they should, making common tasks less intuitive than expected. I also believe the user interface could benefit from additional customization options to allow drivers to prioritize the information they use most. Fortunately, these concerns appear to be software-related and could potentially be addressed through future over-the-air updates. Mechanically, the vehicle has been excellent, and Hyundai has done an outstanding job with the overall design, comfort, ride quality, and value. Overall, I am very satisfied with my Ioniq 9 and would confidently recommend it. With continued software refinement, it has the potential to be one of the best electric SUVs on the market.

Great Car That is Limited by ICCU Issue

On the market for a 3 row EV family hauler, the Ioniq 9 Calligraphy trumped the other cars we test drove, even over its EV9 twin and over the more expensive Volvo ex90. The car is incredibly comfortable, a pleasure to drive, and feels like a modern car should. The safety features really stand out when we are forced to drive our second car, a 2019 Acura RDX that is no slouch. All the little touches like side and rearview cameras, the ease of the car seat latch system, the ability to move the seats in the rear when a kiddo falls asleep, are all just a big win. The mix of real tactile buttons and nobs are also a huge safety win over ironically the Volvo which forces things like window lock to be accessed through a touch screen. Try doing that while driving and see how safe that is. Just a button on the ioniq. We like that things just weren't over engineered or designed and innovation was applied where needed. For a huge car, the ioniq9 has a ton of zip and doesn't feel like a huge whale to drive like a minivan would. Our biggest worry buying the car was the ICCU issue we read about online. We thought maybe it's overblown. It isn't. We had our ICCU fail 2 months in and under 1500 miles. It's a real bummer as it reduces our confidence in utilizing the car for any activities a little bit aways from home. The other knocks against the car: the tapered rear cargo is definitely not as practical as the EV9 for loading up kid strollers and wagons, it is maddening to not be able to lower the middle seats from the infotainment while driving (have to park) which I get you don't want the driver doing but my passenger is right next to me unable to do the same. The lack of walkaway lock is also maddening. My almost the year old Acura has that feature. Aesthetically, we love everything but the rear. We got the car in white and it is fine. The rear in every other color really does look like a hearse unfortunately. But really, fix the ICCU problem. The warranty is great but doesn't ease the fears of it leaving us stranded on a road trip - a big reason to use a 6 seater car.

I absolutely love this vehicle!

I love the fit and finish - everything is top notch and hopefully it ages well. We've only had the Ioniq 9 for 2 months. I would give it 5 stars except for the touch buttons that operate the climate system. They are a little tough to work when I am driving the car and require just a bit too much attention to be pulled away from driving. The back lights for this part of the touch buttons are dim (and yes I've tried to make them brighter). However, the rest of the vehicle is absolutely fantastic! The quickness is like no other. The comfort is amazing. I just love it! And it's my first electric vehicle. I'll never go back to fuel.

What a great vehicle!

The ioniq 9 is a very great car focusing on Luxury, comfort and performance. Is just a bit sad for me because i wasn't able to get the caligraphy trim. But limited trim is stil delivered what ioniq 9 capabilities are. The design is a bit weird at first but once you are inside and driving it you know why the reason of the design. It's like dont judge whats the outside buy whats really on the inside. Especially how spacious the vehicle is And for a performance trim still give a good range.

Not happy with the Ioniq 9

1.5 stars. Our family describes our Ioniq 9 as, “the car that almost works.” All the features sound good but rarely does it work as we expect. Hopefully the 2nd or 3rd year will be better for future drivers. Some of the larger concerns we had was the app/doors bugging out where it believed the car was unlocked when it wasn’t and the app didn’t update until we hard reset with support on the phone. Luckily the trunk would open and I was able to crawl to the front and manually open the doors. Features, like manually needing to put the car back in one pedal driving every time we put the car in drive and the lane assist that seems to turn off and back on without any audible warning seem likely to cause an accident. The navigation, voice or typing, seems to struggle to accurately create a route in comparison to 3rd party apps or what we were used too in our Tesla. Last, we do appreciate the large battery but concerned the energy usage per mile is below its peers. Last, it took many times for it to work in a conveyor car wash and I used a 3rd party app to breakdown all the areas like to cause it to break unexpectedly. Moving the car to the furthest level from one pedal driving is necessary, ensuring auto m-hold is off and removing the automatically applied parking break that sometimes occurs when switching it to neutral. If I move around too much in my seat, that messes with it too. Another time a door handle didn’t come out evenly and one side appeared jammed creating a weird angle. The door wouldn’t open and the car stopped responding. I could change gears or drive for 4-5 minutes. I manually couldn’t undo the jamb so I kept turning it on and off until it reset. We had a Tesla for 5 years and were excited to move away from that brand. Our local Ioniq dealer wasn’t willing to help us find the right car for us but another across the state did. We’re going to have our 5k mile service shortly and hope the local service will be convenient compared to Tesla. After 5k miles, we’re definitely not interested in keeping this car and will wait out our 3 year lease. Definitely disappointed when comparing it to our first five years of EV ownership. For a positive, I do like the location of the cameras connected to the turn signal combined with the signal in the mirrors. That feature works well and definitely increases safety. My boys like the interior as a passenger. If we could return/sell this car now without a financial loss due to the $5k down, we would do so.

It just doesn't have enough features on the inside and they don't come

I think the vehicles should have more futures on it and different color models and sunroof and better range and charging up the vehicle it goes pretty quick

2026 Battery System failed at 2206 miles 🤔

Great EV

3rd EV (Ipace & Tesla Y before). Love the presence, ride, space and technology that works for the driver. Very quiet and comfortable. Fast charging. Quibbles- infotainment start a little slow. Occasionally doors a bit slow to recognise my phone and open. European safety features that you have to turn off every time.
