Right fundamentals, but so much room for growth.

Styling is by far the most attractive for how bold and odd it is. The battery technology is leagues above others and makes owning an electric car simple. However built in custom ability, trim level separation, and identity needs work. It feels like it should lean more into the futuristic vibe and dive into affordability through hyper-miling. It should have been a more sleek rendition of an elantra leaning heavily into efficiency at lower trims and adding more personality seen in newer or outside market versions, ie like the ioniq 5 getting a Pokémon dash theme in other markets.

Only positive is it’s cheaper than gas right now, other than that the fact the Ioniq 5 has wireless CarPlay and this one doesn’t is absurd, a bunch of random plastic all over the dash that wasn’t needed. Not to mention that ugly duck lip on the end of the car just get rid of that

An incredible Electric Vehicle - Should never have cancelled for USA

I now hve two EV's. a HyundaiIONIQ 6 and a KIA EV9. Both are the best cars I have had in 50 years of driving. They are quiet. They are responsive. They need almost no maintenance. My lease is up soon on both cars. I will buy the KIA EV9 and not the Hyundai. I won't be buying out the Hyundai only because Hyundai has discontinued this model for the US. I worry about parts, and any future maintenance. It has been an outstanding car and would have easily anticipated keeping it for 120,000 miles as I usualy do with cars. GREAT VEHICLE, stupid decision Hyundai!

Love this car

i like everything about my Ioniq 6. It has sooth and powerful acceleration; it handles amazingly well. I like all the safety features especially the turn signal cameras. It's very comfortable and the controls are laid out very well. I really like it still has physical buttons for air conditioning and the overhead camera.

I'd buy another

I LOVE the car. The dealer experience is needs work. Hyundai designs and builds great cars now. The dealer experience has some legacy issues from when Hyundai sold mostly 'car rental cars' as a friend referred to the brand when I was trying to get him to get an Ionic. He got a BMW instead. My wife and I traded a Land Rover and a top of the range Audi for our Ionics. The first dealer was diabolically bad. Dishonest, and almost a parody of bad car salesman. Hyundai owners you meet when charging have similar experiences. You need to fix this now! There's a disconnect between the quality of the car and dealership. The service from two woman service managers has been very good, probably because they're not the usual bros who are in those roles.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6: Impressions of my first Electric Vehicle

Things I really like about the Ioniq 6 include the attractive sedan styling inside and out, incredible and quiet acceleration, handling, safety features, solid structure, build quality, comfortable seats, cabin space (especially in rear seat), fast charging speed (with good chargers), home charging and, most of all, no tailpipe emissions and no smelly gasoline.The things I don't like so much are the controls for the heat / AC / ventilation and seat heaters (the panel is difficult to see and adjust with tiny icons), the driver's seat needs to go back farther, road noise on rough surfaces, range could be better (especially in cold and windy weather), smallish trunk and Hyundai stopped selling this car in the USA after model year 2025!

Hyundai messed up by no longer selling in the US

This has been my favorite car I’ve owned in a long time. It’s a shame that Hyundai decided to stop selling them in the US along with the other non-US market vehicles that would sell extremely well. All these manufacturers whittling down their lineups to almost exclusively SUVs is horrendous. The Ionic 6 has been great, and it’s unfortunate that I won’t be able to replace it with a new one when I’m done with it.

I love the car. I hate the tires! I have had four flat tires.

Car great. It needs better tires. I have had four flat tires and it could not handle the snow. I spun out on the highway and was lucky to not get hit but I crashed into the median. I am gonna have to put all weather tires on the car this fall.

Excellent EV. Everything else is awful.

Really like the smooth ride and extended range of the ioniq6 and that it feels like a normal sedan. The low voltage electrical system and ICCU have been nothing but problems for me. I'm at the dealership every month to get things fixed or to service a recall. Current problem is the charge port sensor falsely reading as open causing the interior warning beep to be constant.

When you can’t trust Hyundai

Starting out, this was one of my favorite vehicles. It remained that way from Feb 2024 until March 2026 when recall issues impacted safety and could not be verified as fixed and my safety assured. Hyundai refused to have an engineer confirm all had been fixed and the vehicle was safe to drive. Hyundai refused to work with me after filing complaints with Hyundai USA and escalating to their legal department. To this day, Hyundai refused to assist and refused to cancel my lease term. I was forced to surrender the vehicle and pay the remainder of my lease out. Hyundai financial then erroneously set up payments for the lease and falsely claimed I was late with payments when all payments were made timely and the lease fully satisfied.

Overall a really solid EV that is vastly superior to Tesla

Overall I really like this vehicle. It looks great rolling down the street, it is very fun to drive and has great safety as well as fun features. I particularly enjoy the adaptive cruise control with the lane change assist. And the the ambient lighting in my Limited is pretty great. One of the main issues I have found is that, as a 6' 4" man, it would be really nice to have more headroom, especially in the back. I have a lot of trouble sitting comfortably back there and it has nothing to do with legroom.
