Dream car

I fell in love with this car the moment I saw it, but I feel even more in love driving it. Not only is it flashy and sporty looking (no one can believe it’s a Hyundai, and often comment on its Porsche-like character), it drives like butter. Super smooth. It’s also surprisingly spacious. I couldn’t be happier with it.

The pros I can say about this vehicle is it rides smooth and has nice interior. Other than that unfortunately this car or has not lived up to its advertisement. I leased this vehicle which was advertised as a long range electric vehicle with an estimated 365 miles in between each charge. Since having this car I barely get 260 miles in between each charge and all Hyundai has done is claim or pointed the finger back at me and say the vehicle isn’t getting its full range because of driving habits and the way I use the car. For example using the radio or charging my phone etc. Yet Hyundai won’t educate you and say that the weather effects your battery range, you can only use certain charging stations to charge your vehicle and they don’t warn you when you get an electric car that you may wait up to two hours at a charging station just to charge your vehicle and then once you plug in it will take an additional 40 minutes to charge your vehicle. When I complained to Hyundai that my vehicle wasn’t performing to its advertised range/distance they brushed me off and just said yeah it’s probably you and not the vehicle. When I’ve taken it to get serviced the service technicians even told me that getting an electric vehicle is not the way to go and unfortunately they push these cars onto people and say they’re the best but in reality they are not. I was very disappointed with the performance of this vehicle and will not be sticking to Hyundai once my lease is up.

This car has a lot of recall issues

We purchased the Hyundai IONIQ 6 from Carvana in Sept of 2025. We were excited by its look, its comfortable interior, all the extras it offers and to be free of the price of gas. However, before the year was up, we received a letter for two or three issues that were recalled. We scheduled the warranty work and took it in in Dec 2025. Within a month, the car was telling us maintenance work was required on our car, which only had 11,000 miles on it. The message would appear and then turn off. Finally, after 3 weeks, we got in the car to go home and a LOUD alarm sounded within the car telling us to pull over immediately and get the car towed. Luckily, we were only 2 miles from our house, so we drove home and parked the car. We called Hyundai who towed the car to a dealership, where we had to wait three days to even get a diagnosis that the part needed to fix the car is on backorder with no known date of arrival. The very best scenario is we will be out of a car for a MONTH!!!! The dealership has been its own set of problems to deal with (no one answering phones, no return phone calls even when they are scheduled and promised, no Ubers even when they are scheduled, etc.) I would not recommend this car at this time.

Absolutely terrible range

It was my first time leasing a Hyundai and most likely. It will be the last one for my entire 84 members of my family. We are very discouraged by the depreciation and the horrible range.

I love this car. I hate the uncertainly it brings with it's suspect ICCU which as already failed going 70 MPH on the freeway and instantly scaling down to 20MPH. Also, several times just a few minutes after plugging in to charge at home, I got messages about reducing charging speed due to heat. Both of these things were covered in software updates/recalls yet neither of these things are resolved. I know two other people with this car and BOTH had their ICCU die. Aside from that, the car is incredible. Sleek, modern tech, fast as lightning and really beautiful. It's a head turner that makes driving really fun. I wish it had HUD and wireless AA as well. It also should have come with a better quality 12 volt. If it weren't for the ICCU and charging issues it would be a an easy 9/10.

Dependable second car

The fact that I drive only 4000 miles a year and can get free Phillips from my Hyundai dealer. That is only 2 miles away. Makes it a perfect decision for me.
