Ioniq 6 review

The Ioniq 6 is a comfortable ride. The cruise control with lane assist and collision avoidance is great. I can take my leg off the gas and rest it, it avoids the leg cramps I used to get. Super responsive acceleration if you want it and big regenerative braking if you want also. Good range, even on freeway. Only problems are taking my eyes off the road to use videoscreen over nearer the middle, and the locking system. Can't seem to get the hang of pushing the right button before getting out so that it locks without pushing the fob after getting out. Plenty of cargo space and back seat space. Zero maintenance costs for first year (I drive like an old man, on full regeneration so rarely use the brakes).

Great car, just a few design misses

Fun car, very sporty. Very room inside car and trunk area. Driver's AC does not reach driver. Apple Maps does not work with out a connector piece you need to buy to connect your iPhone. Car will also drop iPhone anytime time a person with a paired Android device is anywhere near the car, even if you are currently using an Apple product in the car.

Nice Car

Best car I have ever driven. Electronic camera and sensors takes safety to new heights Great pick-up and great range. With a home charger, we charge it about once every two weeks to a month and rarely see the battery below 130 miles remaining.

Perfect electric vehicle

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is a perfect electric vehicle. It blends the sensibilities of a standard car with all of the added functionality of an electric vehicle, all in an affordable package with a number of trims. It also has a wide availability to work with. A number of different chargers, charges well overnight on a level 2 charger, and can charge up to 80% in 20 minutes on a level 3 charger. The maintenance on the vehicle is near minimal and it has plenty of settings to make sure that you can ensure battery longevity. Pair this with a competitive electric rate. Plan near you and you have yourself a clean, easy, and affordable vehicle to own and drive.

Love my Ioniq 6!!

My Ioniq is a head-turner wherever it goes - the sharp body styling is often confused for vehicles from other, higher-end manufacturers and the EV system is always a source of inquiry and conversation.

Great car but issues plague this line

I love my car. It drives super smoothly and hasn’t given me issues yet but I’m aware that ICCU failures are frequent in these cars and Hyundai keeps issuing recalls for it without actually solving the core issue. This makes me worry about taking the car on a road trip. Also we get hardly any over the air updates, it’s pretty sad compared to Tesla. The navigation UI leaves much to be desired. hyundai you need to step it up as this is a great car otherwise.

First EV

As a first time EV user, the vehicle was a great experience over all. The biggest problem, if you can call it that, is the poor software experience. The UI is not intuitive and is quite plain to look at. It is not interesting, fun, or useful at a first approach. The lack of wireless android auto is frankly unacceptable. The lack of an ability to turn on battery conditioning MANUALLY makes the car much less friendly for long distance driving/charging in cold weather. Even when attempting to use the built-in navigation the car failed to precondition the battery ever. Not once did the car actually precondition unless it was to protect itself from extreme cold or heat. I also take serious issue with higher trims of any EV, including the ioniq 6, having 20" "luxury" rims, which substantially reduce the range of the car. If you are trying to sell an EV, making choices that reduce the range for aesthetics standard, will turn away people. I think the choice is incredibly stupid, as the rims alone affect the range by 10% or more! Leaving 30-60 miles on the table for fancy rims is a bad decision. Do not make the luxury rims standard.

Great Car

This car is definitely all we expected. Very efficient, quiet, fun to drive. Good handling with the best regen system in the business. It has very good range and charges quickly when we have to use a DC fast charger on road trips. Really couldn't be more pleased.

Love the car, hate the service

EV vehicles are the future, the only problem, the future is not here. The infrastructure for charging is awful, they are limited and unreliable and cost more than a typical trip to the gas pump. Lower the price of charging and add more charge stations and I'll be singing a completely different tune.

Fun to drive

Overall, I enjoyed having the car very much. The main detractor for me was the trunk size. I often keep my golf clubs in the trunk and there is very little space for anything else. Even a Costco run is challenging unless I let down the back seats. Also, I have the base model and there is a lot of plastic on the interior, which I'm not a fan of. I don't know how well it would hold up over time and it just looks tacky. I'm not sure if it's the same for the higher trim levels.

Classy looks, great ride and reliable

The car looks and drives well. The factory recalls did use up about 10 hours of work time over the two years of the lease, overall the car has always been reliable, comfortable and with 3 big sons, the back seat served as a great travel option that avoided the dreaded, don't touch me rules. We had a few issues with the shape and size of the trunk when doing an airport pick up, yet overall the adventure has been a good one!

Really good car

It's my first EV and it drives like a dream. Only gripes are with the dashboard. Some of the climate controls are hard to see. Likewise for the trunk and charging port door releases.
