Why I gave this 5 star car 4 stars
I love this car. There are just a few character flaws with it that have hampered my 2 years of living with it. My biggest complaint deals with the wheel sizing and how it is locked to trim levels. The 20" wheels on the SEL and Limited don't offer enough sidewall for the poor quality roads of the Midwest. I've had 3 tires get their sidewalls cut due to potholes and the lack of sidewall the 20" wheels offer. The 20 " wheels also reduce the range a significant amount and offer worse ride than the 18" wheels from the lower trims. The 18" wheels should be offered on the SEL and Limited as an option at least. If you check the forums and reddit pages, you'll find a not insignificant amount of people who are swapping out the 20" wheels for more efficient, narrower wheel/tire packages. Please also consider doing the same for the Ioniq 5 trim levels.
The only other issue I have encountered is that the Syntex material on the piping of the driver's seat is peeling off. I'm quite gentle on my cars ( My last being a MK5 Golf for 14 years) and have taken good care of my Ioniq 6 but the piping started to peel within 6 months. Of course, it's not covered by the warranty but this is not normal wear and a quick online search will show you many others with the same issue.
Besides these 2 issues, the car has been great. Sure, the sound system is sub-par (I wish you would offer an upgrade on all trim levels) and the parking sensors go on the fritz almost every time you're at a light, but it drives great and is comfortable. That's about the best you could ask for in a daily driver.
P.S. - Could you look at offering a towing package for the Ioniq 6? One of the reasons Sedan sales are so low is that almost all manufacturers don't recommend or explicitly tell you not to tow with your sedan. Offering this on the Ioniq 6 with just like 2000 lbs of towing would help it stand out.
