ICCU Plague and consistent worrying as your drive every single day.

All the Hyundai Ioniq 6 as well as Ioniq 5 is plagued with the ICCU issues. Battery Issue, Fuse Issues, constant fake software updates at the dealership to “pretend” that the ICCU issue is addressed is misleading. Everyday you drive the Ioniq 6 or 5, it may drive “Okay” but you are constantly walking on eggshells because any given moment the “12V battery warnings and pull over immediately” warning can pop up. And surprise, it’s the ICCU issues. The worst part is, Huundai pretends like it’s not a big issue and that it doesn’t happen often. It happens VERY often. It happened to my brothers Ioniq 5 as he was driving on the main road, his Ioniq 5 just DIED and all the ICCU warnings popped it. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS! PEOPLE CAN DIE when you do address these issues fast! Not only that, with these known issues, your car has to sit at the dealership for MANY Months waiting for parts or fake diagnostics. Yes - the wait is 2-6months atleast! And they do not even provide you with a means of transportation. So, that’s pretty much my review summary. Customers do not like the feeling that their electric car may just randomly die in the middle of the road (like my brothers and MANY of customers as well). You guys have known the issue and you guys pretend it’s not an issue because it causes too much media attention. Well guess what, too late, it’s all over the internet.

It is a great car with better than expected efficiency.

The car does what I got it for. I have AWD with SE trim and get 400 miles per charge in warm weather The efficiency degrades dramatically in the cold but that is to be expected. There is also a drop from new tires and I had to replace all 4 because one was damaged and the others were too worn to just replace one. I am still having issues with maximum AC level 2 charging levels due to the heat sensors at the charging point. For over 1 year, I was able to charge at near the full 40 A, but after the first and second ICCU recalls, charging now stops if it thinks its too hot, and then restarts, but does not reach the max rate. I am taking the vehicle for service again next week, so we will see, but I had already reduced the max AC Current to 90% and now the same thing is happening again. The service model for (all brands) EV's is problematic because local techs have to contact Senior techs off site and there is no guaranteed access and that means leaving the vehicle for days at a time. There is also no way for customers to discuss technical issues with escalation and senior technical resources.

Pleased all around with this Hyundai EV sedan albeit it could use a sunroof to make it feel even sportier. The range is incredible. It was named EV of the year by Car & Driver.

Classy, efficient, very enjoyable ride

After 2 plus years of ownership, I can state unequivocally there is nothing I do not like about my Ioniq 6. The technology is first rate, especially the numerous safety features. Performance and range are optimal. Ride comfort is exceptional. I cannot think of anything I would prefer be changed.

Disappointing

Electronics are confusing and unpredictable. Reliability is questionable due to Hyundai’s failure to correct the problem with ICCU failure.

Excellent design. Electronics are confusing and unpredictable The owners manual , despite being voluminous, is almost incomprehensible. Front seats are comfortable for short distances, but not supportive enough for long rides. The back seats are roomy, and comfortable, with lots of leg room. The BlueLink app is buggy and customer support is clueless.

Big electrical issue requiring loaner for 2 months but otherwise great

Meant my car was at the dealer for 2 months. Luckily they had an ionic 5 loaner that I could use, so there wasn't too much of a disruption. Other than that, the car has been great.

The vehicle has 31,000 and has been regularly serviced. I am now on my second set of tires because the vehicle’s added weight caused the tires to wear down sooner than I had experienced in other cars. The batteries’ range was always less than advertised; now, the maximum at 80% is down to 247 miles. The car is comfortable. Unfortunately, the sales person was not very familiar with this model. The nearly indecipherable manual is little help and no education, I am sure that there are features that I would enjoy but I have no idea how to access them or even to find them in the manual: online or hard copy. This vehicle is a major disappointment. It is my second all-electric. The earlier vehicle was a Volvo. Neither is satisfactory but the Volvo XC-60 (?) was worse. I am stuck with this car for another 11 months. Luckily, I had some savings and bought a hybrid Prius. It is not as fancy but it is dependable. This Uonic 6 is not.

Fun car to drive but many issues with reliability

This car is so much fun to drive. But we have been stranded by the 12 volt system. This car had the iccu replaced twice and had numerous software updates.

Sleek and stylish but lacks the small things

Overall the vehicle is great, but there are small annoying things that don’t make sense. Like having to open my car door to then open my charging plug in door, not being able to leave vehicle on without it yelling at you, auto lock when walking away, the seats wear easily even after just one wear of normal use, a blower fan broke already… I am worried the car won’t last a long time due to cheap part. It looks great though!

Great car! Not ready for EVs for road trips yet

I didn’t like where the charger was and I would have liked a rear window windshield wiper. Also the GPS system is not very user friendly. I traded in the car last week.
