Perfect car

I wanted to feel more safe, from the wild driving I was more and more frequently witnessing and also from my own less acute skills. This car makes me feeler safer and also helps me be a better driver.

On of the best EV’s I’ve used so far.

I love how comfortable my Ioniq 5 is. Even the back seats. It’s a smoother ride with great acceleration, and handling. It has some flaws I would love to see fixed like the eyes up sensor always thinks my eyes are closed making cruise control very difficult to use. The sensors used primarily for parking have put me in a bad spot a couple of times. One time stopping the vehicle in the he middle of a parking lot when there was nothing in my way. I had to take a second to get my car moving again. And I was almost hit by another car in the parking lot. Also the parking cameras don’t line up as well as another car I owned that also had the top down view. All that being said, I love my car but would be so happy if those issues were fixed.

My '26 Ionic

My second EV and second Hyundai and I am very happy. EV wise it's a big improvement over my VW Id4. Hyundai wise it's the same quality as my Santa Fe.

Better value but still lacking modern conveniences

2nd ioniq 5 I have leased. The 2026 model misses one key tech feature that was available in the 2025, NRF keyless or wallet key. Very convenient in this day of digital accessibility. Additionally, the side mirror cameras or lack of is disappointing in what is suppose to be a tech savvy car. Overall the car is good value with high build quality as opposed to the loose panels in other EVs. It’s a very good value, but could be class leading value with small convenience tweaks.

Great car but ICCU reliability is a huge problem

Quiet comfortable car with great upscale features. But the fact that the ICCU can fail suddenly, and leave you stranded anywhere, is a severe limitation.

Hyundai Review

Overall positive. For me, the only negative was the inability to have the daylight dashboard. The black dashboard during the daytime is difficult to read and makes it hard to access features. Prefer my 2024 Hyundai.

Great around town car! Not for long distance.

The car is greater for city use! But as soon as you start driving on the highway over 60mph you can watch the battery lose charge. The one thing I do not like is the radio display. It does not display the name of the artist and song unless you totally open the channel screen. So if you’re using navigation on the Home Screen you can’t see the artist information. My old 2010 car could do both. Why can’t a 2025 Hyundai?

Ioniq 5 Limited: excellent car so far

I love this car. It’s such a joy to drive, has great battery life, and charging at home is such a breeze. It’s my first EV and I think I picked a great one.

Best-in-class EV for 2026

Thoughtfully designed. Well built. Fun to drive. The battery has excellent range and charges incredibly quickly so keeping a full charge is no more of hassle than filling a gas tank was. The interior is very spacious and comfortable, with much more room than you would expect for a car of this size (another benefit of an EV, not having an engine/transmission means more passenger space). The ergonomics of the driver's position are excellent, I especially like that the dashboard has actual buttons and dials for important controls instead of running everything through the touch screen like some other cars do. The engine is responsive, it delivers power on demand and makes overtaking on the freeway easy, but it also has smooth ride and handles well. It's quiet inside too. The exterior is stylish, it doesn't look like another cookie-cutter sedan. Every little detail seems to have been cleverly and carefully thought through. And now Hyundai actually LOWERED the MSRP while still having a 100K mi warranty on the battery. Best value and best overall car in its class. I love it!

Perfect EV for most drivers.

I just traded by 2022 Ioniq 5 SEL RWD in for a 2026 Ioniq 5 Limited RWD. The 2026 Limited is very roomy. I am 6'-4". There is plenty of room to get in and out of the car and plenty of head room and seat adjustment once you are in the car. Comfort controls are extensive with steering wheel and seat heaters and cooling. The included MyHyundai app allows you to preheat or cool the car in extreme weather conditions. Pick up is more than enough for me. I found the range to be better than the rating, however, it takes time to understand how weather and driving an EV.impacts the range. The range is reduced substantially during very cold weather. It is also reduced if the trip is on expressways with few stops or brake usage to replenish the battery. My ONLY complaint is the "Keep Your Eys on the Road" safety feature which includes an infrared camera on top of the steering wheel that verifies you are actively engaged in driving the car. That goes off way too often even when your eyes are on the road and if you it doesn't verify quick enough, it disengages cruise control, which in my opinion is a safety problem.
