Lots of little bug. Hasn't been perfect

I've been having difficulty setting up the charging schedule. Sometimes it works. sometimes not. The alignment was wrong when I got it. Had to get that fit. The skid plate fell off. A cover on the undercarriage. Had a fight getting them to cover that. I've called and had it in the shop to fix the charging schedule to no avail. It's awful to wake up and not have a charge! This is a very complex machine. It's taking me a while to figure everything out!

So far so good

We’ve had the Limited for about 2 months. The interior is great - roomy and well designed. Ride is incredibly smooth. Even in Eco mode there’s a lot of power and the range estimates on longer trips are pretty close to actual.

Great car, but disgraceful quality control on battery

The Ionic 5 is a terrific EV. Its design and engineering are fantastic. It drives very smoothly and quietly and is very comfortable to ride in. The amount of internal room is ample, both for passengers and cargo. The car accelerates like a sports car, and has many modern safety features. However, our traction battery failed after 1000 miles and had to be totally replaced, which took 4 weeks. Disgraceful quality control by Hyundai on the most expensive part in the car.

Great Car

The version I got is great . Nothing but compliments which is nice but we love it most of all. I don’t see how it’s not a luxury vehicle inside this car by any standards. The car flies on the freeway and snaps off the line. Ability to turn the AC on from my phone is more than a luxury to me. Charges super fast and learning to live with range anxiety . Oh no! I only have 250 miles at 75% charge how will I make it through a half hour drive? Easily my friend, it’s just fine shhhhhh! I do wish the All Wheel drive had been available in the limited trim and none available. I may have opted for the N but none available so I suffer through with a super fun , safe, luxurious, quiet EV and really who’s going to car jack me for a Hyundai? Much nicer and planned out dash than the T word . Actual knob controls where it counts and the visibility is astounding without cameras but it’s has them all over . Even the back seat is big enough for me at 6’3” very surprising. It’s not a compromise back seat . Zero percent for 72 Can’t beat it. Feels solid too.

Overall great car, some minor issues

Some of the minor issues that I’ll say are the constant updates the computer of the car makes. These updates are quick and easy but it seems like after an update something messes up and needs to be fixed in the next update, such as connectivity issues, I was going on 2 months without the ability to use CarPlay for some reason I couldn’t figure out. The charging port at the bottom of the feet has trouble charging my phone and connecting to Bluetooth/carplay as well. I don’t know what I could’ve done, I barely use it. But these small issues change quality of life especially when paying for what something I expect to work.

great car

Don't need another car other than this one, unless someone comes out with a far higher-range EV. I'm ok with the 318 miles this car gives me per charge. But sure, if I could somehow get 600 miles per charge, I'd make a change. Either way, very happy with Hyundai.

Not just an excellent EV; an excellent car overall

Styling is fantastic, interior feels like a real car with actual buttons, multiple screens. Most importantly, there is not just a single, buttonless ipad experience which unfortunately many other brands have adopted. Hyundai thankfully did not do so with the 2026 Ioniq 5. Spacious, comfortable, efficient, and speedy when you need it.

I want to love it, but your build quality is still suspect

this is my second ioniq 5. I had a hell of a time attempting to get an AWD again, which I could not get at all. I've had to bring it in 2x already for defects from the factory. 1 - seat vent fan was blown out. 2- outdoor panel attachment is cracked. 3 - loose rear view mirror causing buzzing while driving. Also while I like you adding the phone holder up, and the magnetic charging - in practice driving in the daytime makes the phone way too hot and there is glare from the plastic surrounding the holder into your eyes while you drive

Nice upgrades over 2024 model

Our first electric car was the 2024 Ionic 5 (lease)We had issues with the ICC unit. The 2026 is our second electric vehicle (bought new). Great price from Hyundai. Upgrades include wireless CarPlay and an updated display. Tesla charging port expands charging locations by ~3x (anecdotal observation). The included charge kit is great and allows access to both types of fast charging ports.

Exceeded my expectations

I was unsure what an electric vehicle was going to be like, and I’ve never bought a Hyundai before either. I am pleasantly surprised on both counts. Very impressed with the quality and ride.
