2024 was superb; 2026 is not.

Sadly, i lost my lovely 2024 Ioniq 5 SEL in an accident with only 4200 miles on the odometer. I replaced it with the identical 2026 model, which has been quite a disappointment, comparatively.. First, the good: newly added are wireless CarPlay, a rear wiper (small, but better than nothing), much improved GUI, slightly better range, vents for rear seats in B-pillars. Not so good: fabric seats of the 2024 (which i loved) replaced by non-breathable fake leather; seats themselves are smaller/narrower/less comfortable (I'm a 5'10"/160 lb guy and they just fit my hips and upper torso); entire interior is MUCH cheaper, with wall-to-wall plastics replacing the beautiful brushed metal switches, door handles and trims, and hard plastic replacing the formerly-upholstered door cards.The previous interior felt, and was, special; this feels pretty basic. I know corners were cut to bring the price down, but this is unfortunate. Then, there's the build quality: interior squeaks and rattles began before i hit 500 miles; the whole car just doesn't feel as solid as before; even the panel fit is a bit off in some places. The keyless entry is quite funky and erratic; sometimes snappy, just as often i stand there waiting for several seconds for handles to open or for touch to close. Did not have any of these issues with my 2024 (no issues at all, in fact). It is tempting to attribute this overall decline to the change from manufacturing the Ioniq 5 in South Korea to Georgia, as well as cost-cutting, to lower the MSRP. I understand, tariffs, parts, domestic versus overseas manufacture, etc. All that said, what hasn't changed is that i still love driving it and i still LOVE looking at it, and so far it has been completely reliable. Those who did not experience the earlier (imho superior) model will no doubt find it to be a sharp, rewarding and enjoyable vehicle.

I Love this car!

I Love this car! It costs less than $1 to charge it each night at home and charging is quick. I love the app for its ease of use. Its so quiet to drive. Apple car play is easy to use.

My second Ionic 5. Love it!

The 2026 made the modifications that I wanted with the SEL. Vents for rear passenger and an arm rest that can hold beverages. Yeah!!!

Good battery life, charge - Some annoying features since last digital

Quite satisfying, mostly because mileage - Downside: Steering wheel: Too thick for female's hand. Not round, has angular shape that cause friction in hand. Steering wheel often resistant, even after disabling lane control and another feature (check by dealer) Steering wheel not heated - Solterra models offer heated steering wheel in all models. Greedy manufacturer (doesnt cost you a think to offer heated steering wheel, please. Mirrors do not fold automatically. In the last 3 week the Parkign break gets activated and it is challenging to deactivate it - I do not appreciate this at all. Delays the drive departure/ half a minute typically.

Love my IONOQ5

So far this vehicle has been wonderful. Easy to charge and the ride is super smooth. Wish it auto locked when you get out of vehicle, but other than that, it is a great vehicle.

OS downgrade

The new interactive software was a downgrade compared with previous version (ioniq 2024) less settings, some important functions were removed like auto lock… radio control on the right side of the steering wheel? That hand is the closest hand to the radio

Excellent car

Overall it is a great little electric car. Good range, acceleration, comfort, and convenient features. Once you have figured out all the bells and whistles it is amazing flexible for multi driver families. The exterior styling is ok, but I would have preferred a little more traditional look. The verdict is our on reliably as the car is still very new, but I am hopeful it like everything else will be great.

Q review

Great design, lots of room and very comfortable.it has fit in to our lives perfectly. Home charging is great. The NACS charging convinced me that the car will be great even on a road trip.

Good urban vehicle

Great for short trips, low maintenance, charged at home. A bit noisy for an electric vehicle - both wind and road noise can be annoying at speed. Range is not too great for AWD v

I love my Ioniq 5 XRT!

Had a few Tesla owners drive my Ioniq 5 and there's plenty of things they prefer in my car over their EV. Not the least of which is the closeable moon roof, the additional dash buttons (not everyone likes to have to navigate the screen for every function). It's also easier to get in and out of the back seat.

JUST SPECTACULAR

I bought the dual motor AWD and it is definitely worth the money. Coming from a BMW, I needed the extra HP to handle the hills. Though nothing drives like a BMW coupe, my Ioniq 5 is far superior in every way. It is by far dollar-for-doller the best vehicle I have ever owned. The ride is sumptuous and the safety features are even superior to my old Volvo.
