2025 Hyundai Ionia 5 Limited SUV all Electric

The Koreans have thought of everything especially when they added rear wipers. It is easy to use and is missing nothing that you would want in an ELECTRIC SUV. I wish American cars were as thoughtful. Initially I wasn’t sure I would like the exterior look BUT it makes it so easy to find your car in a lot filled with silver colored cars plus it’s unique looking and I like that. Look up all the amenities.

Best ride I ever remember

I am amazed at the ride quality every time I'm in the car as either the driver or passenger. I love how I do not have to twist my head and body to get it too.

Fun, fast and stylish

The Ioniq 5 is a solid and well designed car and I find it fun to drive. It is very responsive and surprisingly quiet. The interior is well designed and the display is much better than so many cars that look like they bolted a laptop to the dash. Very happy so far.

Ionic is a great vehicle.

I love this car; it drives like a dream, handles great, and is very quiet in the cabin with little road noise. Charging is easy and, if at a Tesla Supercharger, very fast. Most of the time I charge at home and time is not an issue.

The replacement becomes the lead

I sold my Tesla vehicle on account of the company’s descent into Nazism. After research, I chose this IONIQ 5 based on the car’s range and reliability. In every regard beyond those two characteristics, and by any measure, this Hyundai is an exceptional vehicle. It would bury any Tesla.

Loved my '22 so much, I got a '25

Living in Colorado, buying the XRT and a vehicle that finally includes a rear window wiper is a big help. Small changes in the infotainment system, interior and exterior, added ride height, XRT appearance, and a denser batter all added up to an even better car than my 2022 Ioniq 5. I've extremely happy with the car and enjoy driving it every day. Now made in the U.S.A. and with NACS to boot!

Overall, excellent, but had 12 volt battery issues

Would rate five out of five, however, had vehicle start issues twice in the very cold weather in the first month of ownership.

Efficient and comfortable

Compared to my previous electric vehicle (Tesla Model 3), the Ioniq 5 is much quieter, rides more smoothly and still corners equally precisely. It also supports installation of a trailer hitch (the M3 does not). It is one of the best cars on the market for low energy cost (low KWh per 100 miles) and range. So far, my real-world range is better than spec. Tons of room inside and solid stereo system.

Our First EV, and it's Great

The Drive is confident and comfortable. The mileage savings seem excellent. Home charging is easy and satisfying. Public charging can be challenging: On our first out-of-area long distance drive, we spent 3 hours(!) in Fresno, CA, trying to find a major public charge station, using the vehicle software referencing apartment chargers repeatedly. The Safety protocol is excellent day-in, day-out. However, once on the Freeway, the radar crash prevention seemed to fail, requiring us to jam on the brakes at the last to avoid a rear-ender, and almost causing one from the car traveling behind us. Long distance driving is almost as effortless and pleasing as commuter drives.

Review of 2025 Ioniq5

The car is great but there is always this nagging concern that my iccu will fail. I've had two scares. At less than 500 miles the car kept going in and out of turtle mode. I took it in for service. It turns out that the battery cooling system was not bled so air in the system kept the system from properly cooling. The charger that came with the car sometimes trips the GFI so I switched to using my old level 1 charger. One day it would not charge. I tried several times. Next day I tried the other charger and it worked. It makes me a little concerned about quality control.

Worst car ever!

Driven twice in almost 3 months, it has been sitting in service while Hyundai engineers try to figure out what is wrong with it. It is now considered a lemon under NYS lemon law. Very difficult and tedious process to get Hyundai corporate to decide how to handle the situation. My first and probably last Hyundai I will ever purchase.

Great with one exception

The driver eye attention doesn't work well with my glasses and if I shift my posture. It is amazingly comfortable and roomy. It's my first ev and the quiet ride is a delight.

HV battery issues under 1200 miles, horrible customer service

This is our 5th Hyundai. Our brand-new Ioniq 5 reported HV battery errors after just 2 months of ownership and 1,195 miles. It has now been at the dealership for 75 days with no determination. They have not responded to my weekly requests for an update for the past 5 weeks. Nothing. Hyundia corporate has been no help for the past 4 weeks. Each call they say they don't have an update but will call back in a week. To top it off there is a tech service bulletin for the exact error, symptoms and VIN of our vehicle. Yet the dealer tells us they have to wait for Hyundai Corp to tell them what to do, and they haven't called them back in 6 weeks supposedly.
