Love most things about my Ioniq 5

One of the things I wish Hyundai would change is letting me set defaults. I have to set one pedal driving every time I start the car or after I go in reverse. I hope in the future Hyundai moves the charge port to the drivers side. I would like to see 1 pedal drive mode in HUD.

Terrible Hyundai Experience

AC condensation line was never installed properly, flooded the entire car and caused it to Lemon.

The perfect car for me

I have been around cars for many years and worked in all phases of dealership operations during that time. It takes a ton to impress me where cars are concerned. This Hyundai Ioniq 5 continues to impress every day. There’s literally nothing this thing doesn’t do exactly as I would wish it to do. Fast, handles great, stops fast, amazing technology and execution. We don’t use it for long distance work but for local and middle distance work it’s saving us tons of operational costs especially since we have our own solar panels. Any way, fabulous car Hyundai. We’re getting another for sure.

Great car, except the ICCU problem

ICCU Issue

I refuse to recommend this otherwise great vehicle to anyone until the ICCU issues are fixed. Randomly being stranded by the ICCU failing at any moment is a ridiculous problem to not yet have a resolution for after several years.

Too Many Problems, Not Enough Enjoyment

I will say that the Ioniq 5 is a comfortable cruiser, and the power is plenty to handle any kind of traffic or passing situation. I like the feature set of this model, with heated seats and steering wheel, and the cargo area is huge. The tech is the standout of this vehicle, while the separate touchscreens for the HVAC is a pretty big miss (it completely disappears with polarized sunglasses), the actual touchscreen is fast, responsive and the wireless carplay works perfectly every time. The main issue is reliability. I had a charging issue as soon as I got it home. Then 6 months later the ICCU failed and I sat for a month and a half waiting for a replacement, then the home charging cable failed a few months after that. That is a lot of issues in ~10 months of buying a new car. Also, while the car is certainly quick, it is absolutely mind-numbingly dull to drive. The amount of body roll and head toss make you want to take every corner at <10 MPH, there is not feel in the steering and it overall just makes you want to be done driving it whenever you are in it. I assume for people whose only purpose for a vehicle is to move them from place to place will be fine with it. The last issue is the woeful interior materials. There are so many hard plastics everywhere, and the texture of the vegan leather in the seats is awful. I would expect this quality in a $20-30k car, not the $56k that the window sticker of this vehicle commanded. Even and the lower price of the newer models, it's still completely unacceptable.

Great Car, hits all the tight buttons.

Fun to drive and more. Quiet, smooth and fast as hell. Never drove something so quick and that moves as well. Interior feels open and spacious. Love the car.

Great car, when it works.

It is a neat car but my 2025 still had a ton of bugs that haven’t been worked out. It spent 2 months in the shop for battery and power issues in the first 6 months. The heat comes and goes all winter long which is frustrating. Beyond that, it is very fun to drive and when it works, it is a great car.

I leased this vehicle new. It is a comfortable drive, however the provided charging cable did not function and the driver seat heating went out after the first couple of months. The replacement seat was backordered. There is not loaner car provided by the dealership.
