Best vehicle I’ve ever owed

To be fair, I haven’t had an enormous number of vehicles in my life. My last car was an ultra-reliable Prius thati owned for 16 years. I don’t know if the Ioniq 5 can meet that standard of reliability. I will be hard to do. So of course I’m comparing a 2010 car to a 2025 car so it’s not really a fair fight, but the Hyundai is so pleasurable to drive and is so quiet and quick. EVs are so far ahead of ICE cars and it’s not really close. The Ioniq5 is a perfect blend of design uniqueness, utility and comfort. I just hope my ICCU holds up.

Quiet, quick & smooth

Vehicle was very easy to adapt to, tho Owners' Manual could use an overhaul for clarity and grammar. Love the brisk acceleration, cornering, smooth and quiet ride. Also, tons of usable space - fit a 10' 2x4. Noticeable differences in response across ECO, NORMAL and SPORT modes. App is handy to remotely check battery status, lock doors, etc.

Pretty great!

Love it for them most part. Understand with an SE you won't get all the high-end features, but no button to open/close the tall/heavy trunk... REALLY? Glad to be tall and strong! Also, having interior areas you commonly touch in bright white is an accident waiting to happen.

Very nice vehicle. Mechanically wonderful.

Vehicle drives great. I have a few minor issues with the user interfaces - it is quite different than the Ford and Chrysler vehicles I have driven for most of my life. I can't get the "hands-free" steering system to work for me although the dealership says it is working within specifications. I'm also not super fond of the entertainment interfaces. Love the Apple Car-play integration though so that makes up for some of those issues.

The 2025 I5 XRT trim level is a great mix of value to features. Only feature I miss from my previous limited is the HUD and I wish it had a rear towing hitch.

Worse hyundai I have ever owned and horrible customer service

I’ve had issues with this car since the day I bought it. Worse hyundai I have ever owned (7th new hyundai) I won’t be buying another one. Customer service is awful as well as service from the purchasing dealership.

Pluses and Minuses

Very smooth, driving. Easy controls. The lane assist is OK although not super great. It is sometimes difficult to use the Tesla charging stations because the charging port is on the opposite side as the Tesla’s and it requires using up two Tesla spaces to charge up. I wish the Frunk in the front of the car was roomier making it more functional. I wish there were coat hooks on both sides of the rear seats with the hooks larger and able to handle more hangers.

Great Car with minor defects

Overall the car has been solid, although it has been driven only about 3000 miles. The major issues I've had are related to likely manufacturer defects - a very annoying rattle coming from what seems to be a door panel, and defective exterior paint. The paint has blemishes on both passenger and driver side, almost like 2-3 inch circles that were exposes to high heat. A car wash does not remove them, and they're mostly visible at certain angles in sunlight. Everything else has been great! Especially like how fast the car is and the smooth ride it provides. The technology included is also top notch.

Excellent with a few quirks

The 2025 Ioniq5 Limited has lived up to all expectations - great ride, effortless power, quiet, great safety features, with two downsides - it has the turning radius of the Titanic and repairs are hellishly expensive.

Great car

Good driving, comfortable car, spacious. Missing walk away lock. Charges up to 150kwph on a 350kw no shared charger. Very smooth smart cruise control with lane following assist. Online support is very slow and generic. I enquired about the phone app feature (digital key) to walk away lock but most phones tried were non compatible, one of them being a 2025 moto g.
