Love me little car

Like said above love my little car. Great MPG. Low Maintenance. Everything works great. Even at 118,000 miles. Only reason i gave 4 * and this was my fault when purchasing, wish it had more power. Back-up camera wouldnt have hurt. All new models have these options.

The Elantra is a great car --period

I drove this car off the showroom floor brand new in 2012. Now, with 83400 totally trouble free miles, I am glad to publically praise Hyundai for this American-made gem of a car. The people in Montgomery, AL clearly did a great job in building it, but the engineering is something just as worthy of mention. I bought a Limited so it has the technical goodies you'll find on any car or suv costing ten grand more. Except, at least from what I've been told by friends driving those fat, gas hogs, from Brand X and Y, MY technical toys all work! And, they work easily, dependably, and intuitively! You can do everything by voice if you want -- the accuracy is 99%. If Hyundai can do it this well, why can't the others?

8 years of Elantra... No problems..

Female driver. I thank God for Riverdale Hyundai. They put so at ease on the maintenance that was needed. I had not been keeping up with my maintenance checks for 8 years so when I finally went in I was so pleased with them being so tentative with my concerns. May God Bless you all.

Dependable vehicle

This is my wife's vehicle and she loves it. She drives 86 miles a day and averages between 40 and 42 MPG. We have put 85,000 miles on the car since we purchased in in 2013 and have had no repairs other than tires, oil changes and a couple of exterior light bulbs

Decent

We like the 2012 Elantra for the most part. It's been a decent car. Looks stylish. The biggest complaint my wife has is the seats. The "wings" on the seats come up too sharply and irritates her sciatica. And after the first year they got a couple of stains. We purchased car upholstery cleaner several times and tried to clean the couple of little spots and it just made big spots that we can't get rid of and look disgusting. It got 41 mph once when we first had it but hasn't gotten near that since.

This is my 3rd alantra. My first one went to 130.000 miles. I would buy another one if I ever have to. I got a black one with tan interior but gray interior would of been better. Next time I’d buy a white one with back up camera. That’s really a nice thing they started to do. Keep up improving and people will buy

My Hyundai is great.

I love my Elantra and it still runs great with only routine maintenance and small upkeep. I have had it 8 years and 113k+ miles and I have had only one major issue with the car. The motor but it was replaced and I have never been happier.

A good car with one concerning issue.

My primary issue is with the electronic power steering, which I feel is poorly designed. I have read other reviews for this model that complain of this problem, so this is not just my particular car. The rest of the machine seems to be a good product.

reliable car

I own a 2012 Hyundai Elantra. I bought it new when I lived in Nevada. It's been extremely reliable, and overall I'm satisfied with the car. I do regret not spending a few dollars more and getting upgraded like GPS.

Sad plastic lemon

My 2012 Hyundai Elantra was my very first brand new vehicle purchase but after 30,000 miles the car started making knocking sounds and little by little every piece has been replaced from the timing chain to the engine. At one point I found out from the shop that my car was owned by someone else and wasn’t brand new! I’ve never dealt with such terrible service and shady behavior and I finally just gave up fighting them and simply paid to have the car fixed over and over. I’ll never buy a Hyundai again.

good performance but need to replace front coil spring

I requested to check my front coil spring but was told to make another appointment for service.service personnel lacks sense of urgency,responsibilities and communication to the vehicle owner as to the risk of not doing the repair as requested.

Good mileage however engine issues

Bought 2 used Elantra from dealer one developed a knocking in engine after 5 months. Tried to get warranty or goodwill coverage both declined. Reviewed forums and see this as a know issue with car and really think coverage would have been considered. I own 3 Hyundai now and is worried that others will develop same issue

Been a lemon since I bought it new

Bought brand new in 12/2012.....in 2018 it had to have a whole new engine, with less than 60k miles on the original. Have had to repair trunk lever 2x, replace warning sensors 2x, and has mileages are significantly lower than the Elantra I purchased new back in 2005!! My ‘05 was NEVER in the shop.....this 2012 has been in at least 6 times......once for two weeks for A NEW ENGINE!!! I’m sorry, but that still blows my mind!! I wish I had never traded in my 2005 for this one......or maybe I just needed to not trade it in at Jack Carroll but at the dealership I bought the GOOD 2005 from

Testing all limits

Great value. Fun, sporty car to meet everyday needs and very comfortable. Pleased with performance of car , but repairs after 150,000 miles affected by using air lift support on cars frame causing addition repairs.

Our middle daughter just had a baby boy, and needed a dependable newer car. My wife and I decided to give her our 4 year old fully equipped 4 door sedan not a Hyundai. That evening I sat on the couch and browsed the Hyundai Elantra and built/priced one on the internet. The next day I while out shopping with my wife, we stopped by the Columbia Hyundai dealer. The exact car I priced out the night before was sitting on the lot, color, every option, everything, it was fate, we bought it that day. The car is great to drive, every control is within easy reach. The sound system is super. The car handles on the road like it was meant to run. I cruise between Cincinnati and Indianapolis around (?? mph) with the state troopers and still get 38 mpg. My brother says looks like it is going fast even when parked. Great performance the car is solid as a rock. Unfortunately I now have a back problem, and getting in and out is a little difficult, we are looking at a Tucson or Santa Fe. We will be staying with Hyundai.

This is my second Elantra, it is 2012 Limited or such, The Value of the car is the paint. the heated leather seats front and back. Great on gas. A tremendous value. Love my little "sport " car . perfect color and sound and extras. would buy it again. thank you to Hyundai for a great line of products. Send me a Kona so I could try it out.

2012 Elantra Disappointment

I've had my Elantra 7 yrs and there could be improvement on the material used for the headlamps. The headlamps do not hold up to the sun or weather. Please go back to the good old days and use glass headlamps. Also the clear coat/paint is flaking off on my front bumper and side mirrors. For $23000.00 the vehicle should last a lot long than that. Also the motor has always made a loud clicking noise but I've always been told that was normal and nothing was wrong. I mentioned it several times to the service department. Also the gas mileage was not what was advertised. I was promised a gas card in the beginning and then there was a class action lawsuit but I've yet to receive anything. So no I really wouldn't recommend this vehicle.

I LOVE my Elantra

This car is perfect for me. It is reliable and I can depend upon it. It has served me well. I was disappointed that the gas mileage was not as good as represented. In addition, the original tires were totally unacceptable, particularly for winter driving. I have purchased winter and summer tires to allow me to feel safe.

The color and especially body style is what I like about it most. It is great car for women. Does not look very big on the outside but it is has nice space inside. I get very good mileage out of it. I hope when I need new one in 10 years they still make them with this "sexy" body.
