One of best overall packages in small sedans

Elantra provides one of the best value for money in the small sedan market, overall has lot more space compared to its peers and feature wise also they have very similar ones compared to the other cars at this price point. Hybrids offer one of the best mpg and you are not compromising on power either. Looks are modern and interior is spacious, wish it could be more quieter though.

I have driven the 2025 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid SEL Sport extensively in Phoenix conditions, including daily commuting, highway trips, and longer drives. The vehicle consistently delivers strong fuel economy, averaging above 50 MPG with steady driving, which closely matches manufacturer expectations. The hybrid system performs smoothly, especially at moderate speeds where electric mode engages frequently, contributing to quiet operation and reduced fuel consumption. The interior layout is practical, with intuitive controls and sufficient space for both driver and passengers. From a cost perspective, the vehicle stands out due to its fuel efficiency and low operating expenses, which make it well-suited for high-mileage drivers. There have been minor technology issues, particularly occasional Apple CarPlay connectivity inconsistencies, but they have not significantly impacted overall usability. Bad MPGs, Visibility, Front Seat Ergonomics, and Windshield Wipers

I was extremely happy with my 2019 Hyundai Ioniq SEL. I was averaging between 55 and 58 MPG. I gave it to my daughter. The Elantra Hybrid basically has the same engine and transmission as the Ioniq, so I was expecting summer results, but a few MPG less (i.e., at least what was advertised on the window sticker). It would be a good value overall if it actually got the advertised fuel economy, but I am only getting 43 MPG. The windows are small, so visibility is difficult. For someone with long arms, even I have difficulty reaching from the driver seat to the infotainment system screen. I went to clean the windshield, and the wiper blades won't come up far enough to get under them due to the hood. Speaking of the hood, it does not match up on either side with the front quarter panels -- poor design. It is difficult to get in and out of the car regardless of front or rear doors.

2025 Elantra Hybrid review

I was looking for an inexpensive vehicle that would get great mileage and I found it. It was exactly what I was looking for. I am not crazy about white, but it is okay. I would have preferred another color, probably red but it wasn't on the lot. It drives great and gets the mileage I was looking for.

Great vehicle

I had this vehicle for about 13 months when it was rear ended and totaled. I absolutely loved driving it and enjoyed the adaptive cruise control and driver assist features. I never had any issues or problems with the vehicle or the Hyundai dealership where I lease purchased it, Withnell Hyundai. They provided excellent maintenance service.

Unresolved Concerns

The windows make a lot of noise while driving, which I didn’t expect. I brought this up to the dealership, but no one has gotten back to me. It’s hard to give a good review when my concerns haven’t been addressed.

Love my Hundai!

I bought my Hybrid Hundai last year, just before the tariffs kicked in and am happy I did. The car never has any problems and has great gas mileage which really helps with the current price of gas. Love all the bells and whistles!

Build Quality

Overall engine and mileage wise good. The build quality and outlook especially near the fender are not good. Driver side and passenger side it’s not identical. Heavy wind noise I am hearing when I am driving on the highway which is not ideal experience even when all the windows are closed

Sensor redundancy, not helpful, distracting, traction disappointing

Excess sensors are distracting and not accurate - warnings about ice in 40 degree weather? 'take a break' without reliable triggering? layers of unclear settings, and unhelpful commands for lock openings. Front wheel traction poor in mud - almost non-existent. Nice smooth ride, otherwise good pickup. Auto high beam management nice feature.

Horrible Customer Experience

I purchased a brand new 2025 Hyundai Elantra expecting reliability and peace of mind, but unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite. Since taking delivery, the vehicle has been in the shop six separate times. Persistent issues include interior rattling, excessive wind noise, and a recurring check engine light that continues to come back even after multiple repair attempts. These are not minor inconveniences—they significantly impact the driving experience and raise concerns about the overall quality of the vehicle. What has been equally disappointing is the lack of support from Hyundai Motor America. Communication has been poor, follow-through has been inconsistent, and case management has been extremely frustrating. Long repair times have only added to the inconvenience. To make matters worse, Crown Hyundai refused to properly address the vehicle due to poor workmanship from Courtesy Hyundai, which ultimately resulted in a safety concern. As a customer, being caught between dealerships with no clear resolution is unacceptable—especially for a brand new car. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Hyundai to anyone. The lack of product reliability combined with poor customer service has been incredibly disappointing. I would strongly caution others before making a purchase.

Great gas mileage, eats up highway miles

Good value for the price. MPG is probably a little over by the computer display but it's still VERY impressive. Only wish is that the SEL Sport had adaptive cruise control. Feels strangely low getting in and out of.
