Let me start by saying, I have purchased all kinds of vehicles in my life to include, Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Nissan, Volvo, Audi Kia and unfortunately Hyundai. I have purchased from a multitude of dealerships.

My Hyundai Santa Fe that is less than 2 months old and has 8000 miles on it had to be towed to Thomas of Cumberland. Thomas evaluated the vehicle and advised the radiator had a pinhole leak in the radiator that was caused from outside influence. There is no damage to the grill, the underneath of the vehicle or anywhere for that matter. Apparently the vehicle is so poorly designed that normal driving can cause a puncture in the radiator. Thomas was willing to do nothing to help me, other than to be condescending towards me and to try to charge me nearly $1400 for a repair. I did not purchase the vehicle at Thomas or I am sure this would have been handled differently. Unfortunately, Hyundai would only tow it to the closest dealership and not where I bought it from. Do not buy Hyunda and at all costs, do not deal with Thomas Hyundai

Service dept is horrible
While the sales department has always been pleasing the service department is definitely lacking. Break your vehicle and leave parts missing and swear they aren’t to blame. Shady

Excellent customer service! The Tucson that I purchased needed a tail lamp replaced due to condensation and was replaced faster than I had anticipated. I would recommend Thomas Hyundai for any service that is needed. Professional and courteous staff.

I had trailer hitch and splash guards installed on my 2022 Santa Cruz.
The originally told me it would take 3 hours plus.
I was out of there in 1.5 hours.

Very disorganized
Took my vehicle in for maintenance and no one knew who I was or what I was there for I was told the parts for my vehicle were on back order. No one called to tell me this information. I was told there’s no loaner vehicles that they could give me and they didn’t know when they could get my car in to get it fixed this is a very big inconvenience. The last few times I came to Thomas the service has been downhill. I’m not sure what happened to Shawn running the express but you need to find someone like him because he always made sure everyone was taken care of! Have you been seeing him use his own money to help customers .

I do apologize for the experience you had the last time you. I want to assure you that is not how we do business. 

Shawn was an asset in many ways. He certainly will be hard to replace. We are currently training a new member, however it takes time. 

As I am sure you are aware, vehicles and parts are hard to acquire right now. Unfortunately this affects our business in many different areas. Both in receiving parts and in having service loaners available. 

It does appear from your advisor and technician you were scheduled in the main shop. I am not sure why they did not know you were coming. I will check into that.

After struggling to get this taken care of at TC and Heritage Towson and registering my concerns with corporate, I took matters into my own hands and simply stopped by at the end of the day. The problem was electrical and I put up with it for four weeks. Initially TC couldn’t take me because they were too busy and I had to settle for an appointment a week later. It wasn’t resolved. It kept popping up intermittently until September 13 when I had a crisis in Baltimore. I went directly to Auto Zone and had it read and it showed a misfire on plug three. Had it towed to Heritage Towson where they couldn’t read the history and hence couldn’t do anything. So I travelled back out here and contacted corporate to let them know how irate I was. It’s all in their report. Of course this never should’ve happened to go on for so long. Makes me seriously question whether I continue with Hyundai after 14 years!

I purchased my car new from this dealership and I only have 44,000 miles on it, it is still under warranty and I had to have my vehicle towed to the dealership. They could not even look at it for 5 day and when they did look at it it was a recall issue, that I was not informed about from Hyundai. Once they looked at it it was done with in an hour. This is my second Hyundai had has had factory issue that has caused at disruption. The current one made it difficult because there was no loaner car. I unfortunately don’t have a choice of another dealership or to sell my car right now.
