Not a fun transition to a new car.
Lots of details should have been fine tuned such as being able to turn off ignition shut off permanently instead every time you start the car. To be able to permanently select the drive mode instead of selecting each time. The tiny icons on the screen for such things as fan cannot be found by touch so you have to take your eyes off the road to look for it. With a dial you could just reach and feel for it. The Gear shift on the steering column is not a good fit. With years of using this sort of mechanism for wipers now you have to re-train your brain. Years of muscle memory reaching for a gear shift that had a comfortable hand fee. There are not enough useable cup holders! Why isn't there any in the doors? The door pocket is too small for almost anything, even a compact umbrella. The rear console folds down at an angle and looks broken and besides that the cup holder don't hold any normal size travel cup. Compare it to my 2018 Subaru Forrester interior and it fails badly. Poor Gas milage 22mpg, Slow acceleration Very difficult to use rear backup lines. Alert beeping is super sensitive, yet does not alert me of cars or people directly behind me when I think they should, like in a parking lot or backing out of the drive. I think I have to get pretty close before it activates rather than alerting to early. Don't like I cannot control wipers manually. They judge when and how fast. 3 Months old and the passenger seat already discolored from pants. Does not come off with auto leather cleaner. Cannot set car to lock by pushing lock button on the door when you are exiting. What ever you covered the speakers in the front doors with was not a good choice. When exiting the car in a tight parking space my knee will graze the door as I am careful to not extend it to far and when it touches that speaker cover it take the skin off my knee like a cheese-grater. I fear I will have a scrap until the weather gets cool enough for slacks. The touch screen is not good. Too sensitive and in reaching for something else you can easily turn on the heated seats or cooling or whatever. Very poor design. We went with Hyundai because we still have a 2007 Sante Fe that we enjoyed from day one. After a few day of driving this Tuscon, I wished I had made a different choice. Now 3 months later I still feel the same way and look forward to my next car, when trading this in will make sense financially.
