Creating a luxury brand isn't easy, but Genesis makes it look that way

My GV80 is obviously the product of thoughtful and creative design. From the tiniest ergonomic touches (no-look knurled control knobs) to the breathtaking interior and sweeping exterior aesthetics, this vehicle turns heads. Your people not only fashioned superb separate design elements, they have accomplished something much more challenging... successful integration into seamless automotive grace. Kudos to your brilliant leadership team. Their extensive luxury brand experience shows in everything they do. My prior vehicle was a 2019 G-70, and my wife drives a 2022 GV-70. We are a Genesis family.

Loaded 2025 GV80 coupe

Overall very comfortable and stocked with amenities. Fun to drive! Would make a few tweaks for functionality (larger compartments in door; small storage area where the fuse box is, take away the removable tray in the armrest) and would like a few more options to be individually customized (I.e. having the seat bolsters in sport mode, but the engine in eco mode; being able to have the massage chair activated any time rather than only at certain intervals of driving). I really like the look of the GV 80 Coupe but would like the body style to be even more differentiated from the GV80 and more exterior paint color choices/interior trim color combinations.

Looks great but lacking in many ways.

Within a month of owning this vehicle, I started getting warning sensors that would turn on and off. After several trip to the dealer, I was told there is a very small chip in a front sensor causing the problem. The chip is virtually undetectable. It is, of course, not covered by warranty and costs roughly $1K to repair. I was told this is a typical problem, which tells me the company is using sensors not designed to be placed on the front of its vehicles. I was also told my iphone could work as a key, but then after I bought it the sales rep said only android phones work, but later the service tech said they can program my iphone but need both sets of keys and a third key provided by the manufacturer. There are several tech features that simply do not function, which I was told would be corrected, hopefully, in software updates. I can continue, but suffice it to say when I spent the money I spent for this vehicle I did not expect this many issues.

Enjoy driving my Gv80

Do not like not having the ability to turn off permanently the auto shut off when at a stop. I wish I could turn off the driver sensors saying I need to consider taking a break

Happy with the change from a GLE350 to my Genesis GV80. I love all the extra features I have with the Genesis that I didn’t get with the GLE. Rides great, has more power and looks good inside and out.

A great SUV that makes you feel good.

Takes a little while trying to navigate the many features in the infortainment system. Had to view video on how and what features the vehicle has. The steering is a little vague, dosn't tract the way i like it to, but overall a decent driving car. The drive at road speed is quiet and smooth. Purchased the GV80 mainly for the design, styling and the many features it has.

Spent 90K on a vehicle that is irritating to drive

If I had know about all the irritating warnings I would not have bought this vehicle. 1) Take a break warning constantly goes off and no way to disable. My 35K Kia I can disable but my 90 Genesis no. 2) Forward attention warning goes off even when disabled. On a long drive this car constantly issues warnings. I dont need Genesis Engineers to tell me how to drive. Please make it all configurable to be disabled. 3) Lots of parking sensor warnings which are useless when parking in a garage. I have to ignore them everytime I pull in and out. 4) The rear camera horizontal lines do not work when i "F", only in reverse. When parking in a garage, the rear lines are what is need to park the vehicle precisely. I have these in my 35K Kia but not in my 90K Genesis. 5) When using a bike rack the car brakes itself in reverse and each time I have to disable parking sensors. Irritating for a trip with bikes on the back. The factory hitch is poorly designed with small holes for the safety chains. You cant even get a bike chain lock through the small holes, This car is over engineered with irritating features that driver has no control of. Do Genesis engineers not expect people to wear polarized sunglasses? Why cant I turn alerts off. I want a car I can control the driving experience, not one that whats to tell me how to drive. Storage is very limited in the front. Not much in the doors or console. Had I known all this, I would have not bought the GV80. I do not recommend this car to friends. BTW Genesis customer car is useless. They keep telling me to go see dealer vs answering the questions I have asked on line.

Deplorable suspension system.

The deplorable suspension system in this car deprives one from experiencing a pleasurable driving experience. The vehicle is good looking has a beautiful interior but totally lacks for a comfortable ride, especially for it's price. Definitely not what I was expecting and the suspension only seems to get worse the more it's driven.

From Mercedes to Genesis

To say I'm happy with my 2025 Genesis GV80 is an understatement. Both my husband I went from owning Mercedes, which quite honestly we loved, but there is really no comparison with the top of the line with GV80 when you consider the same price point for a Mercedes. The reality is that you would have to pay significantly more for a Mercedes to get the features offered on the Genesis GV80. I loved my husband's GV80 so much that I kind of took it over and since he wanted his new vehicle back... You guessed it we had to get another one. They are both beautiful vehicles, that ride like a dream. The luxury of the leather upholstery along with all the other stunning interior and exterior features is unparalleled. The safety features are also unmatched. From the moment we walked into the dealership (never intending to buy one, much less two GV80's) we were greeted with the most amazing sales woman whose name is Emily. She made us feel right at home, no pressure, not to mention how knowledgeable she was about all of the features. The rest of the staff from the managers, finance and tech guys were all outstanding as well. I have never had such a positive experience in my life and that's saying something since I'm 64 and have my share of vehicles in my lifetime.
