Transitioning to an EV is a "Learning Experience". I'm still learning.

Where to start? The good things about this car are great. The bad things about this car might make it undesirable by many individuals. The good things? There are lots of them. The quiet ride (even at highway speeds), the power which provides a distinct safety factor when passing trucks on 2 lane roads; the clean smell of a vehicle that doesn't store gasoline and motor oil; the convenience and cleanliness of not having to fuel up at gas stations; the convenience of Genesis connected services; the reliability of electric motors that should be much more reliable than vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. Now to the bad parts: Traveling outside my local area is a challenge. If my wife and I are going more than 75 miles (150 round trip) an argument normally occurs about which car to drive. And yes, she has a right to her complaints. While we have never been stranded, we have added HOURS to a trip by seeking and finding a place to charge the car for the rest of our trip home. The lack of charging stations is not the car's fault. It seems that it would be rather simple to put 6 to 12 EV charging stations in every interstate rest area. It must be too expensive or too complicated because, at least in FL, I have never seen one in a rest area. And the reliability of the chargers is another problem. My early experience with EV chargers was awful; my estimate is that fewer than 50% of the EV chargers worked That number has gradually improved. I don't travel enough to get a large sample but I would say the failure rate is now between 20 and 25 percent. And, I'm sure there are good reasons for that failure rate. Tesla chargers have a much lower failure rate. I have been waiting for my Tesla charger adapter for over a year now. I was told to expect it in the 4th quarter of 2024. That passed without an explanation. When I called in January, 2025, I was told to expect it in the first quarter. That passed, too. I kept calling. Emails started to arrive. It's coming and they will be sent out in the order in which your car was purchased. I purchased mine in December, 2022. A friend bought his in August, 2023. He's had his adapter for months. I still don't have mine. Order of purchase? Apparently, that order is not being followed. So, the car is great; The range and lack of charging facilities is this cars downfall. I've followed it's resale or trade in value. It's dropped like a rock. I would have been much better served to lease this car. I'd be driving a new one now for less money. Oh well. That's life. I'm 77 now; I've been driving for 61 years. I can't remember the number of cars I've owned, leased or borrowed. This car is the best I've ever driven. I bought it with the belief that it would be my last car. Even with the warts, she's still a beauty.

An Excellent EV

After two years, I can say that the Genesis GV60 Advance version is the perfect size for an elderly couple with two guests in the spacious back seats. The cargo area behind the rear seats is more than adequate for Big Box trips. The EV is very comfortable, amazingly quiet and is extremely responsive. The technology that goes into this vehicle is mind-boggling. I never tire of using all the features offered by this EV. Yes, I've had to take it into the dealer for adjustments to the ICCU, the 12V battery and a few enhancements. In every case the dealer provided me with a Genesis loaner, and in very instance, the vehicle was upgraded without incident.

Athletic Elegance

It has the look and the luxury elements with techno-friendly features. Still need to work on the overall Driving Dynamics and Ride-comfort as the car seems to be bopping even on smooth roads, jarring on rough or road imperfections.

The GV60 is great. Dealer Service Weak

I love the quiet yet powerful ride of my GV60 Advanced. Car looks great 2 years in and performance is wonderful. However, dealer support on recalls and time to do basic service is terrible due to only 1 dealer in San Diego County, CA

Fully electric luxury and performance!

I've owned my Genesis GV60 since late 2022 and it is by far the most luxurious high performance vehicle I have ever driven. Highlights include the beautiful vegan leather interior, driver seat massage feature and the ferocious acceleration (even without the Boost Button!) The fit and finish on the car is world class and at nearly 3 years old it still looks like it just rolled off the lot. Genesis customer service and 3 years of free charges at Electrify America are only the icing on the cake!

Great car with poor operating software!

The 2023 GV60 is our fourth EV, after owning three Tesla S models. We primarily bought this car because our Teslas did not have Rear Cross Traffic Warning (RCTW). The GV60 has fast and silent acceleration, nice appearance, luxurious and comfortable front seats, easy to get in and out. Fun to drive! Free and fast DC charge for three years through Electrify America stations. An extensive number of User Manuals. Annoyingly poor map display, and no wireless Apple Play -- we need to connect our phone by wire. The rear seats are not comfortable. User unfriendly operating system. Unfortunately, Hyundai dealers no longer handle Genesis cars, so now we have to drive a long way for the frequent Factory Recalls (seven in 30 months). The Kearny Mesa (CA) Genesis dealer is so busy that appointments and free loaners are hard to get. We have not received any promise of opening a Genesis dealer in the large Carlsbad (CA) Automall, where virtually all makes are represented. Hopefully the redesigned 2026 GV60 will have these shortcomings solved. Otherwise, we'll get the new 2026 Lexus RZ. They have a nearby dealer in Carlsbad!

Luxury design and electronic features but some surprising shortcomings

This is a luxury car, in terms of style and comfort, with some wonderful electronic features - including, above all, very useful smart parking (it can get itself in and out of parking spaces and garages) and very good warning sensors. But strangely, it is inferior in some regards to lower-end vehicles I have owned. One aspect is the map feature - it is clumsy in its overall look, and it is hard to see streets and street names compared with, say, my old 2014 Infiniti QX50, not to mention a 2018 Tesla. And you can't adjust it for night mode. Another is the rear window, which makes viewing difficult with a bar across it - this should have been an obvious flaw to the designers. The other complain relates to the air conditioning - the vents are not multi-directional so you can't aim the air conditioning as precisely as you can with, say, my old 2014 Infiniti. These issues puzzle me because these are problems that were solved long ago so I'm surprised to find them in such a luxury vehicle. I admit I would not have bought the Genesis if I'd known as these affect significant aspects of driving and comfort - in these areas it's a big step backward.

Fine quality fit and finish combined with impressive performance.

Comfortable and well designed interior. Responsive handling and quick acceleration. Driving range could be better and cornering could be more positive. Infotainment system is very good but could use wireless Android Auto connection.
