Great Car!
Our last car was a 2007 Ford Focus. I was ready to buy a new one, but as I did my research, I began reading complaints about the new dual clutch auto transmission. When I went to my local dealer, they suggested that I drive one. I'll have to say, I was not impressed. The car hesitated, then surged when you tried to accelerate. There was also a lot of shuddering going on. My wife didn't even drive the car, and she noticed it as a passenger as being extremely annoying. The salesman then suggested that we try a new Ford Fusion. I'll have to say that this car, with the conventional 6 speed tranny, was much nicer to drive. The car rode real nice, and was quiet, but the seats felt cheap un uncomfortable. So in my research, I saw that the Mazda3 was rated best in class. I had previously owned a Mazda 323, and a Ford escort, which had a Mazda motor. So we went and test drove the Mazda 3. Most of the other brands were ruled out because they had CVT trannys. We decided to buy the Mazda 3, because it was a grand less than the Fusion, Way more fun to drive, Way better gas mileage, The 6 speed auto with manual option is the most awesome tranny that we have ever driven. It constantly keeps the motor in it's most happy operating range, and you can put it in manual mode and shift just like a manual. It is a very comfortable car too. The seats feel like they wrap around you, and they have memory foam in them. Good room and comfort in the back too. It just feels like we are driving a very expensive sports car. It has more power than we will ever use. It would be nice to have the more torquey 2.5 motor, but it only comes in the most expensive model, and gets a few less miles per gallon. Everything about this car is awesome. The lights are best ever, four wheel disc brakes, premium Bridgestone tires, best steering, best gas mileage, the only thing missing is a backup camera. I highly recommend this car over any other in it's class.
