Recall never fixed correctly
There was a recall of my 2010 Veracruz, early on. Something allows oil to spray all over the engine and other parts. It shorts out the alternator and then the battery dies. The recall only provided a new alternator and battery the one time but that did NOT fix the problem. We have had it back multiple times for the same issue. I believed that it has happened either 3 or 4 times now. Each time, the vehicle just dies. The middle of Whittaker Mill Rd, going up a hill... it just stopped. On 495 in D.C. was lucky to limp it off the highway in rush hour traffic. On our last weekend vacation, it just died in a parking lot. My husband had to fix it himself, which took hours and much grease on him EVERYWHERE. We were in a small town on a Saturday night and just lucky that the auto parts store opened back up for us and allowed my husband to use their tools. That was a fiasco. Jones has done nothing about this. Stated they would reimburse us if Hyundai did not. That was in Mother's day weekend and now it is the end of June with no word. Each time, except for the first time, WE HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS AND PARTS! That is not fair, the recall was never resolved. Actually, I am rethinking my recommendation of the Hyundai, due to that. Other than that the vehicle has been extremely good, but those are expensive repairs and we have been left in a bad way three times. Someone needs to help us and fix the problem and reimburse us for all the parts, time and repairs. I would not recommend now due to this. if this is handled, I will rethink.
