Nice Drive but Unreliable

Our Santa Fe is a fun vehicle to drive. We have had 2 bigger issues with it with little customer support. A small pebble hit the windshield, which caused it to crack all the way across the window. It was a small enough pebble that it could bare be heard when it hit. Likely a defective windshield, but I had to cover it with insurance. Then nobody knew how to calibrate the HUD. I have driven for over 40 years and have never had this happen unless it was a bigger piece of foreign material. The major issue is that we have had the vehicle become fully dead when parked. It was so dead that the doors would not unlock. The dealership could not duplicate the issue either time and they included engineers to help troubleshoot the issue. I even called the service department when the vehicle died the 2nd time and the told me to jump it and bring it in. I am worried we will be traveling somewhere and have it die in the middle of nowhere. I discussed it with customer service and they basically said they couldn't duplicate the issue so there is nothing they could do. I only asked for a replacement vehicle since this one is apparently defective. They know I have a defective car and will not remedy the situation.

Love this car despite its flaws

I love the comfort and technology. At the price point, it's a bargain. The 20" tires are horrible. Bulging and blowouts forced me to buy new 18" wheels and tires. There is also a rattle in the pillar. It is very annoying. Other than those things, I love the car. The room and panaromic roof are great. I feel like it is a safe car for my child as well.

Driver Attention Warning System ruins the driving experience

My 2019 Santa Fe was excellent. It was the best of the 20 vehicles I have owned. I was enthused when I bought the 2025 Santa Re Hybrid. I love the Hybrid responsiveness and gas milage. But when I get on the Interstate or rural roads, where I can use Cruise Control, the situation changes dramatically. The responsiveness and milage are still great. But the Driver Attention is constantly (every 5 minutes) telling me to "Take A Break". Sometimes it even turns off Cruise Control. And turning off Driver Attention has no effect. It apparently is related to the driver's height. I'm 6' 2". My wife is 5' 7" and it never happens when she is driving. My son is 6' 3' and it is almost constantly warning when he is driving. He refuses to drive the vehicle. I took it to the dealer and they said there is nothing they can to because it is Safety Equipment. It appears that the only thing I can do is sell the Santa Fe - to a short person - and never buy another Hyundai. I am an engineer and the vehicle suffers from extremely poor engineering. Were the safety features even road tested?

I purchased this SUV form Tuscaloosa Hyundai, where I have purchased about 12 total units over the last 15 years, I love the way it rides, I think the extra weight of the battery may have something to do with the better ride, but that's just my opinion, I really like the way it is equipped. it handles like a dream. Really like the fuel mileage it gets especially in town driving. the ride is really fantastic. I will have to say I don't like the bucking it does trying to find a gear when you first get in it, and drive the first mile or two. Also don't care for it going into limp mode, in heavy traffic it will just shut down when ever it feels like it, told them at the shop, (Dealership), and their answer is they all do it, which I guess is supposed to make me happy, but it doesn't it is problematic I think it's the best handling driving riding SUV I have over had, but I really think Hyundai put it out for sale with too many bugs in it, it would have been a Beautiful Santa Fa but they birth it before it was ready, I think Hyundai should have to fix ever one, at their cost. I only have 5000 miles on it can't say what I expect out it because You never know what it will do next, maybe the Trans will lock up, or go into limp mode and get me killed, it's a crap shoot....

I love my Santa Fe Hybrid.

My dealer searched for the exact car I wanted--the interior and exterior colors, the hybrid model, and the "bells and whistles". Though it's fun to consider other cars, I'll probably not trade this one for many years, because it's pretty much everything I need.

Ongoing issue not being addressed

Overall I do love the vehicle but I have been waiting for over months for my local Hyundai dealer to address an issue that I believe is related to the dual clutch transmission. I brought the vehicle in and your mechanic was able to detect the issue. Since then, I have been waiting for a loaner and have called repeatedly to find out when one might be made available but I continue to be stonewalled.
