Great vehicle…except….

The Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid has a coolant radiator in front bottom of vehicle that is not well protected and a small pebble can cause it to leak all the radiator fluid ,costing around $2000 to repair. Hyundai will not cover this under warranty and numerous owners have experienced this issue. Mine did at 10 months old and only 4000 miles. I only drive on paved city streets so it’s not a country road issue. I like the features and way this vehicle feels and drives, however, Hyundai has dropped the ball on not recalling the vehicles to fix this problem.

Probably best all around vehicle I've ever had.

I've owned Lincolns, Infinities, Corvettes and other fine autos and while they may have plusher seats or more powerful engines or other intangibles, I'd have to say my 2023 Santa Fe Hybrid is the best OVERALL vehicle I've ever had. It combines comfort with performance with safety meshed into a simply superb auto that exceeds my expectation since I bought it new 2 years ago.

Great medium size SUV

I love everything about this car except for the following: backup beep is really annoying. Should have the option to turn it off. Everyone thinks I am a garbage truck. Not compatible with CarPlay. I can only use my iPhone with Bluetooth for phone calls and music; no app support. Lack of spare tire. Turning off driver assist when you don’t hold on to the wheel. If someone was driving and passed out the car would crash. Should auto slow down and move over to shoulder.

Great miles per gallon

Gets good mpg. Like the size of vehicle. Has a lot of features. At night the headlights are terrible. Not good-in windy conditions.

Has been reliable until now

At 20, 015 miles just popped a PO444 code, and have ruled out everything but a faulty Purge Valve. Wiring and all electrical is fine, so bad sensor. Now have to deal with a dealer which I absolutely despise!!!

Not Trustworthy

I loved my original Santa Fe, 2010. It did have a shifting problem but never in the 12 years I owned it did the engine light light up. It was a true faithful. I could always count on it. Replaced that old faithful for my now 2023 Santa Fe Hybrid. Within the first year, the car stalled on my long 500 mile journey. Driving along I-5, check engine light came on the car went into a safety shut off. Had to leave my car for a week in another state. Wasn't even offered a rental car. A year later, same drive, check engine light came on. But the car did continue. Made an emergency appointment to have the car checked, again , in another state far from home. The service center stated everything was fine it was just a "glitch". Left me now with a non reassuring feeling on the reliability of my car.

Great vehicle, love the room and the drive.

Great vehicle, love the room and the drive. Has all the safety and technology that you want. The only negative is the plastic bottom that comes undone and rattles when driving in the wind. They will tighten when you are in for oil changes but it comes loose pretty quickly. Overall the best SUV and car I have owned so far!

A great vehicle with some issues.

I really love this vehicle. For the most part I am getting a few mpg over the listed/rated fuel economy. The interior has plenty of amenities and features that are great, and provide a high value for the price. There are some minor build quality issues that I've encountered over 18 months of ownership, from a misaligned rear passenger door (which took several months to fully fix), minor paint defects, to a few fuses blowing within a couple of months, and now a strange squeak/rattle that is originating from behind the steering column. The reliability/speed of the infotainment system is not great, often taking several seconds to open/switch between Apple CarPlay and SiriusXM satellite radio. I really wish that Hyundai would allow HEV drivers to engage EV-only mode (as they do with PHEVs) because depending on the driving environment I can easily go around 10 miles or more on purely battery electric power, despite the small size of the hybrid system.

Fits our needs perfectly. Comfortable and spacious

Can fit our disabled daughter, elderly mother in law, new mom and baby as well as driver very comfortably. Added bonus, can fit stroller, wheelchair and walker in storage area as well.

Great, but engine hesitation issue

Overall, I enjoy my Santa Fe. My only complaint is the engine hesitates when slowing down and then speeding up when there is stop and go traffic at intersection or traffic light. Also happened on highway when slowing down and then passing vehicle that was exiting highway. Felt like I had no control of car and was worried that I might be hit by another vehicle that thought I was moving. Brought to Dealer and they were unable to determine why this is happening. Is it because it’s a Hybrid? The Auto Hold feature was not engaged.
