A masterpiece of engineering, truly be an amazing vehicle!
The Palisade truly is a unique vehicle as first off, it has a very sleek modern feel, and the word "Palisade" just rolls off the tongue as feeling luxurious! Overall the curb appeal and styling of the car is amazing! We use the vehicle for just about everything, from running around town to commuting 15 miles daily uptown Charlotte and Back home in the suburbs, to transporting our large great Dane to vet, and taking the kids to a weekend soccer and taking the family to NC Mountains or beach full of heavy luggage and gear! It has performed exceptional! I have had no problems with the vehicle, just 1 door handle sensor broke, which was replaced. Some of the features top features I love is 1) Camera's all around! 2) Comfortable Ride, with options such as sport mode and powerful engine when I need it 3) Space and versatility from commuting daily, to long haul family trips to NC Mountains/Florida/SC Beaches the vehicle keeps the kids in the back charged up, comfortable, room for luggage, gear, and driver is well taken care of, from great instrument displays, amazing automated cruise control, is essential! Love it! 4) And comfort features like massaging seats to ample leg room, front and rear, you know American's well, we love our space! And great bucket seats, with cooling and heat! Overall no major complaints at all, it's really the best vehicle i have owned. Now if i were to give you just a tiny bit of area's I would have gone the extra mile on it would be 1) I do think the seatbelts in the front could have been improved, as the belt goes down to the floor and my kids will step on it stretching their legs which get annoying, plus the plastic piece comes off a lot that exposes the bolt. Just sort of looks cheap, Hyundai could have sort of integrated the seat belt into the side better. 2) I do think yellow Fog Lights would be helpful to add, or an option, as often times in the US there is really bad weather or extremes, and feel that would help vehicle stand out a bit more in bad weather or late nights on a country road 3) Seems like some hooks are missing in the very rear cargo area, seems odd when traveling and I want to hang up my wife's dresses in the rear cargo area, there is no hooks to put a bar or just hang something up. Or even dry cleaning, i would simply add a handle or hooks on the ceiling in the rear cargo area. 4) Backing up rear cross traffic need ablity to quickly turn off, and or reduce jarring action! For example when backing up, and a car pulls up wanting my spot, all of sudden reads cross traffic and Pali slams on brake hard, all due to a car pulling up with blinker on. It's embarrassing, and the only way to turn that off is to put back in drive forward. Doesn't turn off when parking button. It's just overly protective, maybe allow driver to adjust how sensitive you want that. 5) one of the most annoying items, is I can't drive w/ the rear cargo door open. Sometimes in the US we need to throw a kids bike in the rear and yes drive with the rear open. If I get pine needles, and ties those in the back, and i want to drive w/ the rear cargo open, i should be able to do that, turning off a button or something. It's just the most annoying thing when you can't drive w/ cargo open. It's ok to warn me, it's open but it needs to then stop, and allow me to continue. 6) Seatbelt Sensors, can get annoying when you have a child that is sitting in one seat, and then has my permission to shift seats and rebuckle, the car will not stop flashing seat belts. I mean come on, it's ok to warn me that a kid unbuckled, I should be able to press a button and stop the warning, and adult.
7) Roof Rack Adjustments are maybe the hardest thing, and very very annoying. If I want to move the bars you need several tools and have to get the flex just right. This should be simple and fast. Just like my suburban is allow me to unlatch the bar, adjust it, and then latch it back down, no tools required to adjust foward or backwards. Overall I think Hyundai should consider a Palisade model that it like a toyota landcruiser that has AWD, but has some of those features like to add a cargo rack and other cool options and come standards with towing hitch built into the frame. Plus would like it if Hyundai blew the competition out of the water with longevity, and work on building towards the market where the Hyundai SUV line has much improved longevity and toughness, we want to see 150,000 to 200,000 mile Hyundai's that keep going and are tough. Stay far far away from plastic oil pans, and covers that will break! Focus on longevity should be Hyundais' next credo!
