Dashboard Distractions

The calligraphy trim level has so many things going on that I cat stand the amount of times it dings at me. The vehicle's safety features are good but it impedes the ability to drive it your self. It constantly wants to tell you how to drive. I've only had this car for 5,000 miles and I'm ready to get rid of it.

Battery issues

I bought the vehicle on 1/19/26. The battery has died 3 times. The battery was replaced twice in the month March. The dealership refused to do a parasite test. Told the issue is that I don’t drive the vehicle enough. I’m very disappointed.

Calligraphy Owner

As a Palisade Calligraphy Owner I do appreciate the size of this vehicle. All of the bells and whistles are cutting edge however there are some kinks that Hyundai needs to work out. One being with the display interface and music (specifically radio and XM) as you cannot preview any song titles therefore you have to scroll endlessly through stations. Another oddity is the interior material, although an upgrade from cloth, the seats do not clean as well with all of the perforations. They should also include the center sole organizer that I bought aftermarket as it divides the deep space into two stackable sections. I have not figured out the reason why sometime the air is on full speed when I start the car and other times it is where I left it. Overall a smooth ride, maybe not quite 27mpg after have driven 2500 miles thus far but I am happy with it for the price. I do hope Hyundai improves that radio/Sirius XM glitch.

The 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy is a mixed bag

On the positive side, it’s a beautiful, spacious, and incredibly comfortable SUV that feels more like a luxury vehicle than a standard family hauler. The addition of wireless CarPlay is a major plus, and the interior materials are top-notch. However, there are two significant "red flags" that make me hesitate. First, the infotainment system is a step backward; they removed the dedicated "Radio" button and replaced it with a useless "Search" function, making it far too many clicks to switch between SXM and CarPlay. Second, the new hybrid powertrain has a concerning quirk: at low speeds on an incline, the car can unexpectedly roll backward before the motor catches, which is a scary experience. It’s also frustrating that a seasoned SUV maker like Hyundai missed a basic safety sensor to keep people or objects from being pinched in the power-folding seats. While it's a great-looking car, these software and mechanical oversights are hard to ignore in a brand-new model.

Lots of hiccups

Love the vehicle, but so two months into ownership, one recall because the car has killed someone. We have a check engine light on because a flat isn't flapping, and we've been unable to use our digital key because it killed the battery and we had to have it replaced.

2026 Palisade - Living Up to the Hype

After a rocky start with an air flap malfunction that caused some lower fuel economy and an ugly check engine light staring at me on the dash. I am enjoying my purchase. The vehicle is comfortable, efficient and looks good on the road.

Unsafe

Third row seat does not have a safety mechanism to prevent children from being crushed. Car suddenly stops or overreacts to other cars nearby.

Close, but not perfect

The Palisade has many premium features that you would expect on a higher end vehicle. It rides well, and checks a lot of the boxes. However, there are many subtle things that just fall short. For instance, there is no shuffle play on USB media songs. Also, the hidden windshield wipers design does not work well in snowy weather. There is no spare tire. No spot to hold your sunglasses. Etc. All of these little misses, by themself, are not big. However, add them all up and it starts to weigh on you.
