Fun to drive but tech isn't quite there yet

Good looking car, great comfortable interior. Biggest faults: interface is slow to load, and the mobile app leaves a lot to be desired.

A car with lots of patches, bad dealership and horrible manufacturer

Ioniq has soybased insulation in HVAC system that attracts mice in the ventilating system-- and I received a new car from Brandfon Hyundai with a dead mice. Hyundai motor, dealer, finance could not care less! Never buying Hyundai again.

dont like to have to login to infotainment system every time. interior door lock system doent seem to work, can only lock doors when leaving car using fob.

Great small suv

We love this car with just a few complaints. Surprisingly roomy especially in the rear seats. Unfortunately the head rests in the back seat except for the middle seat are not adjustable. This is a problem for installing children booster seats. Another annoying problem is software upgrades reset driver preferences for the second designated driver.

Pro and Cons of Hyundai IONIQ SEL 5

Following are the Pros. 1. Love the accleration 2.The Navigation and handling. Cons. 1. The seat belt cuts into the neck. The lowest adjustment is still high. 2. Wish the head room was slight bigger. I hit the roof most of the time I am just 5ft.4" Wish. I wish the seat moves back when I open the door and moves forward when I close.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my newly purchased IONIQ 5

Overall, I am very satisfied with my newly purchased IONIQ 5. First of all, compared to a gasoline-powered vehicle, it has significantly reduced my fuel costs. The wide field of view from the driver's seat greatly improves driving safety, and the spacious interior helps reduce driver fatigue on longer trips. I am very satisfied with the driving convenience, safety, and overall ride comfort. However, I would like to suggest two areas for improvement. First is the lifespan of the factory-installed tires. Before purchasing my current IONIQ 5, I leased the same model for two years. When I returned the leased vehicle, it had only about 22,000 miles on it, yet I was required to pay for a complete set of replacement tires. This is well below the expected average lifespan of a set of tires and could leave customers with a negative impression of the IONIQ 5. Second, the wireless charger located in the center console next to the driver's seat needs improvement. I use a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, and every time I place it on the wireless charger, the phone becomes extremely hot. As a result, I am unable to use the charger at all. I am not sure whether this issue is specific to the charger in my vehicle or if it affects all IONIQ 5 models. Either way, I believe this issue should be addressed and improved.

Great EV but Infotainment Needs Improvement

Everything is great--drives well, has nice layout, and gets good range--but the Infotainment system is complicated and has a very poor implementation of SiriusXM. Apple CarPlay is decent but could be better. Other that, though, the car is great.

I wish I could love you

This is a fantastic car with one major strike: the ICCU issue that Hyundai has gone silent about.if it weren't for that, I would wholeheartedly recommend this car to anyone who would listen.

Even better than I expected.

I traded 2021 Tacoma for my Ioniq 5 SEL. Of course the Ioniq 5 is more comfortable, there is no comparison. But the flat floor and roomier interior has been so very nice. The car is also much quieter and the tech is much more modern. Performance wise the Ioniq 5 is very solid. It goes, turns, and stops better than anything I have owned in the past. My complaints are few but include the placement of the heated seats switch, I bump it once in a while and find out it is on when my seat is nice and toasty. Not a nice surprise in the summer. I have installed the EcoHitch on it but there is no Hyundai wiring harness available in the US, even though they sell it in Canada. That could so easily be solved. Efficiency is not great compared to a Model 3, but I knew that going in. It is plenty good for everything I do except road trips, where it can be a challenge. In the end I suppose I am more impressed with the car than I expected I would be. I knew a lot about it before I made the jump and still, I am surprised by things, in a good way. It is so much fun to drive and it is so confidence inspiring. Plus it's a hoot to take people who have never been in an EV for a ride. I am not swayed by looks on most cars but the more I own this one, the more I like it. It matches me and my nerdiness.
