Nice improvement over the 2022 I owned before this vehicle

The Ioniq 5 is still an amazing vehicle and the 2025 has a number of significant improvements. I traded a Tesla Model Y for the 2025 Ioniq 5 Limited and I believe it is a superior vehicle.

Comfortable, peppy, quiet, safe, efficient

The Ioniq 5 limited RWD has been a pleasure to drive. I like everything about driving the car, both on the highway and on city streets. It feels solid and stable in all situations and the one RWD motor has plenty of power. The electronics are still taking some getting used to. I can't decide if all the bells and whistles are trying to save me or trying to kill me. Maybe I am too old (72), and it will take more time. For example, I had a close call on the highway when I moved over to the right lane in front of another car. The video rear-view mirror made it look like the car was much further behind me because of the wide angle. I would also appreciate more voice commands and more options for putting functions on the steering wheel, such as fresh or recirc air, like I had in my old Toyota.

Fixed all the issues of the original.

The 2022 version has issues with OTA, several recalls, trunk closure/failure to open, software glitches/crashes and a less than great charging experience. The 2025 version fixed all of those, and added a rear wiper.

Broke after 2 months of driving brand new.

I loved the car for the few weeks I had it, but it has been in the shop for 9 weeks (purchased brand new) because a manufacturing defect left it with a faulty battery and the battery is apparently unavailable. Extremely frustrating for a brand new vehicle, and terrible service on the part of Hyundai for these to be unrepairable in a reasonable timeframe. At time of writing there is no ETA on the repair.

2025 Ioniq 5 is fun!

Very quiet and smooth drive. HDA on cruise is a little aggressive while braking when a yeeha pulls out in front of you. Really fun to drive and I recommend it for your first ev.

I received a battery warning light. Took it in and they said the battery needs replaced. The big battery! It'd been at the dealer for two weeks now.

Fun to drive, quiet great looking EV

This is my first Hyundai and my first EV. I'm very pleased with my Ioniq 5 so far. It's fun to drive like a hot hatch, but roomy enough for 5 adults. It's quiet and the ride is very refined - everyone who's driven with me has been impressed.

Buying experience was the worst. Paid $59000 for a $51000 car. .

Eastern Shore Hyundai ripped me off for $8000.

Great EV car with a few issues

overall, we love our Ioniq 5. It’s been an incredible car and we are absolutely in love with it. I do have 3 major issues with it though: 1: squeaky tailgate. From day 1, the back of the car squeaks off and on. For a brand new car this is simply unacceptable. Thankfully, the car is under warranty and we’re going to take it in to get this fixed, but at this price range I’d expect better. 2: the app. The Bluelink app isn’t great. It’s buggy and slow and just not as good as competition (Tesla) 3: driver awareness features. The driver awareness features are WAY too sensitive and the LiDAR sensor is in a spot that’s easily covered by an arm on the steering wheel. Please move somewhere else and allow the user to turn down the sensitivity and annoyingness or turn off completely.
