Excellent car, still providing an excellent ride and mechanically sound.
Purchased our 2012 Genesis 3.8L (Premium/Tech pkg) new in summer of 2011. Overall, its been a great vehicle and ride. The value we received was excellent. The 3.8L engine has provided us with good fuel economy (24+ mpg overall as I keep meticulous records). Mechanically it has been sound and reliable, with very little in the way of repairs or equipment and component failures. We are just about 50 miles shy of 100,000 miles right now, and I have been doing a lot of the oil changes, etc myself. I replaced the plugs at 90,000 miles and will prob service the automatic transmission. It still shifts smoothly and quickly. The sound system still works very well and provides superb sound. If there one thing I could complain about, it would be the onboard navigation. Keeping it updated can be expensive, as you have to purchase the maps AND it takes 3 hours in the shop to update. We've only updated it once in 2012, and you can'[t buy the CD update kit over the counter. The car is holding up well, as it spent a few years on AZ and since 2014 has been in Central Ohio. For a rear wheel drive car, even in show, if you take a bit of care, it drives OK with all weather tires. I would purchase it again, and if we ever decide to get a new one, it will prob be a G70, G80, or G90. The acceleration is perfect, and it corners well. It's easy to work on for a DIYer. The heating and AC work well up front and in back, and offers split temperatures. The headlights still track well and I've not had to replace the HID bulbs yet. Leather interior is the camel color and holds up well.
