2013 genesis turbo coupe
Love the car! HOWEVER...know that, if you like to hit the "loud" pedal and whip around corners, that you MUST turn off the traction control or as soon as the tires start spinning, the engine will "stall" via the computer attempting to gain traction, and you will have lost throttle control !
When I 1st purchased this car, pulling out quickly making a left was a SEVERE ACCIDENT RISK as I lost acceleration control and the car feel flat on its face due to the computer over-riding my throttle response thereby leaving me feeling like I was gonna get T-Boned. Once you back off the gas and the tires bite, you regain throttle response/vehicle control. Know that you may soil your undies the first time this happens.
The remedy is to turn off traction control immediately after starting the car and you're back in "old school" days of fishtailing if that's your thing.
I wrote the manufacturer twice and never received a response on this safety hazard fix. I found out from the dealer sometime afterwards.
Afterwards being defined as already having soiled my pants thinkin' I was gonna get broadsided seeing traffic comin' at me. The DEALER should identify this problem up-front BEFORE taking possession and driving home. I'll bet there are law suits pending over this deficiency, bet on it. Outside of this, the only other thing is...High Test gas is req'd or you will experience engine knockin', pingin' as well as shabby engine performance. The engine does not conk out but you will not be happy.
Other than this, car is perfect and gets better mileage on the highway than identified.
