I hate all the automations & warnings

The old Elantra had just the right amount of software built into it, this one is constantly buzzing or beeping about something dumb & you can't turn most of it off permanently. On long trips it tells you to take a break every 10 min even if you just took a break. When you're trying to parallel park it has aggressive audio & haptic warnings that are disruptive enough to be genuinely dangerous & sensitive enough to alert you about objects that are nowhere near your vehicle. Before all this extra nonsense in the car I genuinely loved my previous Elantra, it was fun to drive & great value.

No real complaints thus far. However I have the same issue on this Elantra that I had with my 2012 Sonata. The clips used to hold the front bumper on fail and there is a bulge out that requires a push back into place a couple of times a week.

From Sonata to Elantra: Practical & Efficient, Less Value Than Before

I've owned three Hyundais: a 2016 Sonata Limited 2.0T, then a 2020 Sonata Limited, and now a 2024 Elantra SEL. With each move, its been a shift from getting more car for less money to getting less car for more money. The SEL trim feels fairly basic, and there isn't much that stands out beyond the essentials. That said, it does look sharp, it's easy on gas, and the trunk is roomy, which makes grocery runs a breeze. It's a practical car, but it doesn't deliver the same value or upscale feel my previous Sonatas did. With my lease ending in early 2027, I'm torn between buying it out simply because of today's car prices, starting a new lease even though each one seems to get me a lesser model for a higher payment, or looking at a different make and model altogether.
