The Car is too Smart
The car is beautiful in every respect. Since I am old school, I think often of a story about a man who bought a new car with all the bells and whistles. He became so frustrating trying the learn the vehicle, he sold it and bought an old 450 SL Mecedes and had it fully restored. He longed for simplicity. That said I appreciate the technology of the car. It is easy to understand it is designed to prevent a driver from making a mistake. Things that make me crazy is not being able to back the car out of a parking space with a door slightly open or not fully closed. The car also wants to center itself in the lanes and it constantly tries to center the car even when I am trying to avoid road debris (trash, car parts, potholes, etc.) I have noticed the car does not distinguish driving lanes when a line is yellow versus white. I find it disturbing because the car is trying to keep me and my passengers safe. What really surprised me is when I was driving on a straight road when my wife spotted something I wanted to see too. The car admonished me about keeping my eyes on the road. What a nag car! Don't get me wrong though. I love the style and design of the vehicle. It will take a while longer for me to fully understand the vehicle that I have owned for about 3 months.
