Good, Bad and what were they thinking?

95% of my GV80 is good, the rest is bad or is so far out in the technical field it is totally useless. This car has so many actions one can not remember all that it does. This bring up the question, "was this necessary?". You can set in the driver's seat and spend all day trying to figure out what you want this car to do and then you realize that the day is gone and you have not completed the "To Do" list. And then there is my pet peeve that I just don't understand! The car has tire pressure monitoring that is totally useless. To check you tires, you have to DRIVE IT AROUND for a while and the only information is it's OK or there is Low Pressure in a tire. The psi of the tires is not shown! If something is wrong then I have to drive the car back home and check all the tires by hand to meet the safe criteria. I would like to get in the car and turn it on and have the tire pressure for each wheel show on the dash. I would also like to be able to check the pressures from the Genesis app before I make a trip. My General Motors car does all of this in very easy fashion. Another gripe I have is when you exit the car and walk away, it does not automatically lock the doors. You have to wait for all to disembark and then you have to touch a button on the door handle to lock the car. If you don't, the car will ring the phone app and ask you to lock the car with your phone. It seems to me that an automobile for this magnitude should be able to minimize the motions necessary to get something to work. Grip 3: The exit feature of the seat is set by the factory and can not be changed. It could still be moved back a little farther and could go down another inch or two. I do this manually every time I get into the the front seat. This would help immensely as I am slightly handicapped and do have trouble climbing up into the seat. I guess that I'm a little spoiled with this car as it does so much, one gets to expect more from it. I am impressed with all that it does do and I'm waiting to see if the next update of the system will get rid of some of the glitches that the system has. The ride is wonderful! Very smooth and easy to control. Inside comfort for passengers is always impressive.

2026 gv80 honest review

Technology is outdated/not up to other brands. Finger print verification mostly not good. Rather have facial. A camera is already on the steering wheel looking at the driver. Hmm. A little rough riding but I suppose it’s an suv. Would be nice if it came with running boards. Wish the dashboard was better designed.

Surprisingly luxurious

Been driving my new Genesis GV80 for several months now and I love just about everything about it. The exterior styling and the interior comfort features definitely feel a step above other car makers I test drove before making this purchase. Can't believe the dealership didn't hype up the extent of onboard aided driving systems when using cruise control on the highway. The ability to drive for over an hour without feeling focus fatigue is amazing. Highly recommend anyone in the market for a new vehicle to check out Genesis.

Service Nightmare

I have just over 3,000 miles on the he vehicle and I have had to take it in for a warning light twice. To make matters worse I was just informed that the dealership in Rocklin were I purchased my car is closing. I was promised consigner service when I bought the car and I don't know how I will get that when the nearest dealer is over 100 miles away from where I live

Lots of bells and whistles; bad gas mileage

This car povides a nice, quiet and very comfortable ride. Interior is well made and love the exterior look. Lots of cameras to assist with parking. Will take a while to learn all the features. Some features are great; some are inconsisent and frustrating; some wholy unnecessary. Biggest issue is the poor gas mileage. Should be much better than it is.

Battery died after 1 month. They had to replace battery and sensor to the electrical system. Dealership dropped ball on accessories. Car has been excellent since then

Amazing

When Hyundai spun the Genesis brand off as a luxury marquee I remember thinking, who would pay that much for a Hyundai in a better outfit, but the minor refresh of the GV80 caught my attention. However, the interior is what sold me on the car. I originally test drove a white GV80 with brown interior and liked the car, but I told the salesperson I wanted to see a blue model with the white/navy interior. The interior is stunning and the ride is smooth and quiet, and everything feels thoughtful and refined. It delivers true luxury without trying too hard. I usually get a new car every 2-4 years because I hate driving a car that feels dated and I’ve been buying luxury German cars for years but I don’t think that will be a problem with the Genesis. I honestly just love the car!

Great vehicle!!

This is my second GV80. I like everything about it except, the limited availability of dealerships where I live (Santa Fe, NM and Tucson, AZ} and the inability to turn off the driver warning about taking a break.
