Worst Decision I Ever Made
I purchased the 2024 GV80 prestige package in the limited edition color matte green. I chose Genesis because they were supposed to be associated with luxury and a top-notch service experience with valet and loaner service at your fingertips. My first service was canceled at least 3 times by the Springfield dealership to the point my inspection tags expired the first year. I had to physically go to the Springfield sales department with my husband in order to get someone to agree to service my vehicle without canceling. Once the service was finally scheduled and completed, the car was damaged by the dealership. They took pictures of the damage and then conveniently lost them. Luckily, I had evidence, but it took the Service Manager Peter Kim almost 9 months to finally agree to the repairs, only after raising the issues to Genesis corporate with an extensive case report including videos and images. To give an example of the horrible level of service that I was provided, Peter Kim and his staff said that they couldn’t hand wash my vehicle because they didn’t have any clean microfiber cloths. They also left greasy hand prints on my white Napa leather as an another example of their level of care that they took with my vehicle. Springfield Genesis had my vehicle for 30 days in the fall of 2025 due to all the repairs and then decided to take away my loaner. I was left stranded at the dealership as a tactic to try and take possession of my vehicle that still had a scratch mark that was on the list, but failed to address. I had to have corporate on the phone just to get someone to give me a ride home and have them continue to work on my vehicle. The dealership said they had no loaners to give to me so I was without my car or any loaner car. Peter and his service staff have lied to me countless times. The last service they claimed that my service associate, Alex, that I booked, was on vacation even though the valet spoke to him before he drove to my house and told me to call him as soon as he got to the dealership with my vehicle. Peter put me with a Mary who lied and said that there was a huge scratch on the back of my car and that they couldn’t touch it, meaning no hand-wash (it was dust). Purchasing this vehicle was the worst car decision that I ever made and has prevented my husband from considering one when he recently needed a new sedan. Based on my terrible experience, I will never purchase anything from Springfield Genesis ever again and everyone that knows me, knows the never ending saga of poor service there. I have never been issued as little as a simple apology for my treatment and I expect better from regional management who have also never reached out to me to make me whole, following the extreme lack of professional services provided, or the countless hours that I have had to spend documenting my issues and advocating for myself just to get the dealership to do less than the bare minimum service.
