On Dec. 24 My wife and I were on our way to Newton for Christmas when a car accident on the MassPike
a few miles from Newton left us stranded 325 to 330 miles from home. Since we know no mechanics or repair shops in the area, our son reached out to Pleasant Car and Tire, which agreed to take the car for repair/storage until insurance was worked out, a process that took more than two weeks. During this time, Shawn, whom we have not met personally, maintained contact with us and the insurance adjustor. He was always available to answer our questions and took the time to discuss possible repairs and options while awaiting repair estimates. He was always upfront about the extent of damage and expectations. Thank you to Shawn and the entire crew at Pleasant Car and Tire. We would highly recommend them.

Caveat emptor - Panasonic 12V AGM auto bsttery in Hybrid Toyota
Have experienced parasitic battery drain in 12V aux batteery which eventually caused the car to not s
tart due to low voltage. After charging and battery not holding charge, car would not start at all unless I jumped the battery with a jump battery. Rte 1 purchased the battery in Feb 2022 and installed it and it worked fine for a while. I was not driving the car but only short trips every 2 or three days. The parasitic drain was back and for the past year I have been jumping the car with the jump box to get it started. I took the car to Rte 1 to see if they could get a pro-rated refund from the Toyota dealer on a battery that was less than 3 years old. No deal. Toyota told them this very expensive battery had only a 1-year guarantee. So-o-o, I had to replace it with another expensivve battery (with no guarantee of it lasting more than 2-1/2 yrs) Needless to say, I will not purchase another Hybrid vehicle, unless a gun is held to my head. Toyota won't do anything about the parasitic battery drain (witch I was not aware of in this Camry when I bought it new). Mark at Rte 1 did the best he could do with an outsourced batteery from Toyota with only a 1-yr guarantee (and no alternative battery appears available).
