Light, nimble, FUN TO DRIVE
The BRZ is a real "driver's car," a classic sport coupe for those who want a very visceral experience of handling an automobile along a road. With its close-ratio six-speed manual; quick-ratio, precise steering; high-revving (205 hp. 7400 rpm. redline) engine, excellent and well-calibrated brakes, and very light weight (2800 lbs.), it is not particularly "comfortable" or "easy" to drive; you have to pay attention and seating, while exceptionally secure (good bolsters & great lumbar support), is very low (though visibility of the close road ahead is excellent) and the ride is more firm (though not harsh enough to be uncomfortable). But its handling and response is razor-sharp--it goes where you point it, no fuss no muss, corners flat), and its engine, while not all that powerful, is strong enough to provide enough thrust (given the light weight) to be plenty entertaining on public roads. I initially was going to try to buy a new C8 Corvette but they were all but unavailable at the time so I settled for the BRZ; now I'm not sorry. I probably have almost as much fun as I would have had in the 'Vette and I saved almost $100,000!
