First generation CLS
This 2006 CLS is the first generation of this great first of its kind sports sedan. This design and concept has been copied by every major automobile manufacturer, and it is still being copied. If you have never driven a CLS, I can't explain the feeling. Let's put it this way, you would be in control of an amazing machine that weighs over 2 tons yet has incredible power and the agility of a cat. When I first put my foot semi-hard on the excelerator on the highway the incredible lunge took me by surprise as it brought me and the CLS on top of the distant traffic in front of us in a matter of what felt like milliseconds. I have never experienced such power from a luxury sedan; incredible! Besides the engineering, the hand made walnut dash and console appointments and hand sewn all leather seats are beautiful and the smell of those materials are distinctive to luxury Mercedes vehicles and it never leaves it even after 11years as long as you take care of it (leather conditioner and wood polish routinely). Have a mechanic you can trust and Change the oil and filter every 6 months regardless of the miles (under 2000 miles for me). And follow pretty much the mfg suggested maintenance cycle, although my mechanic will change it a bit based on my limited driving habits. Not much else needs to be done besides premium gasoline. No better reliable vehicle I have owned, period!
